Are Adventists in danger of being deceived in exactly the same way as the Jews were deceived when Jesus came the first time?  They didn't recognise Him as Son of the living God.  They were masters at keeping the law, but did they really know who they worshipped?

Adventists are very good at Sabbath keeping, but the Sabbath is a sign, it's not the destination.   Do we really know who we worship?  Might we be in serious danger of receiving the mark of the beast while we concentrate on when we worship and not who?

Yes many of us do not know Jesus in the heart daily...

We do not follow the teachings of Scripture....

Ps 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Doing the will of the Father is a simile of following the torah teachings of Scripture

Le 22:8 That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the LORD.

For example , a principle is we cannot eat things that contain substances that cause them to die...

A toxin that causes cancer is a slow death, dying of itself....

That includes animal and plant foods....

GMO foods have genetics that cause them to die of itself an the animals or humans that eat them, yet we ignore the dangers of GMO.... we ignore the dangers of aluminium and plastics and chemical herbicides, etc

Mt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

SOP speaks about the Sunday law abomination already starting in 1888 in the USA, so this is a sign to flee the cities and live in the country...how many of us are doing this now ?

SHalom

We can go too far with our application...

Which is always the mantra of those that lack faith.

Most of us here has no faith in the Pope and his bronze doors

Ian

I realize this is a shot at me. But, since I am not Catholic you may be offending some who are. And when you say that you are in the truth, but are willing to promulgate lies about others. It doesn't help build confidence in your arguments.

Leon

Leon so you think I am telling Lies? About You? About the Pope? or is it someone else?

Ian

About me of course. In regards to the Pope and SDA's many are willing to run with half truths and out right fabrications because it fits their Agenda.

Leon

Leon

OK abut you, we know that you are covering up less pleasant aspects of the Jesuits and the Roman Catholic Church. That my friend is no fabrication. As for Agenda it seems like you do have one indeed, to discredit EGW and undermine the fundamentals of the SDA church.

These aspects about you are clear as a bell.

If your point of view is a valid one then you would have no need to resort to a personal attack on another member who disagrees with your opinion. This is very un-Christ-like and it does nothing to further the discussion.

To me it is clear he is calling me a liar because I do not support his point of views.

Leviticus 22:8
he shall not eat the meat of any animal that has died a natural death or has been killed by wild animals. It will make him unclean. I am the Lord.

I think you may have misunderstood this verse. It's talking about animals that have already died a natural death. For example, your goat got sick and died, or got strangled by it's rope and died, then you should not cook it and eat it.

Janny and Jason, the word "natural death" is implied, it's not in the Hebrew, it's assumed by the translators...

Secondly where is the HEALTH MESSAGE in Scripture, if it's not here? Why are we Vegetarians?

The Hebrew word "Tame" is here and means that which is clean or healthy....

Here is a comment by a scholar of long ago  (Jamieson Fausset Brown Commentary)

Leviticus 22:8 Le 22:8

     8. dieth of itself--The feelings of nature revolt against such food.  It might have been left to the discretion of the Hebrews, who it may be supposed (like the people of all civilized nations) would have abstained from the use of it without any positive interdict. But an express precept was necessary to show them that whatever died naturally or from disease, was prohibited to them by the operation of that law which forbade them the use of any meat with its blood.

Does Scripture, have a health message ? Where did  EGW and her SOP comments come from in Scripture?

The devout Hebrew knew about  a health message....

Eze 4:14 Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

And also  Peter in the NT

Ac 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

The principles of health are in Scripture...one cannot do whatever we like ignorantly with our bodies...

Shalom
