There is lots of confusion as to whether Ellen G White is to be regarded as a true messenger of God. There are SDA who take everything she says, some take some things she says and some take none. So, then how is one to decipher this which sounds like confusion to me.

Ok
Permalink Reply by Sarah Sulton on February 1, 2012 at 9:44am THANK YOU! it seems as though people get "upset" when people suggest that someone else may actually have spiritual gifts--WE ALL DO! I am thankful to be in a Conference and at a Church were the membership recognizing their spiritual gifts is a priority. The local church body cannot every be successful without the 5-fold ministry (Ephesians 4) active and in place.
I am thankful Dorothy that you took the time to read, listen, and well understand exactly what I was saying!
Blessings!
Yes you are right on Dorothy...
Permalink Reply by shelpeare on February 10, 2012 at 6:50pm Concerning messages given to individuals (point #2), we have to remember that much of the Bible too was not addressed to us specifically in name but that does not mean that the message is not still applicable. For instance all the epistles were written first for the people who gave the book its title. Philippians was for the Church at Philippi. Hebrews was for the Jews scattered abroad. The message to Laodicea was written first for the people situated in laodicea which is in Turkey yet all those messages apply to us still.

They have been tested proven and tried, and triumph.

Dear Sister,
Please refer to our 18th Fundament of our Faith in our Church Manual:
18. The Gift of Prophecy:
One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen. G. White . As the Lord's messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested. (Joel 2:28, 29; Acts 2:14-21; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 12:17; 19:10.)
