Hi NHim.

You state: The problem here is that you denounce me before you even have attempted to look up the source of which I quoted.

For some reason NHim, you take my replies and posts personal. I have not denounced you and if I have you should be able to prove it by reposting my denunciation of you for all to see.

Nevertheless, I perceive that you are hurt and although you refuse to apologize for any of your offenses against myself, Ron or anyone else on this forum, I apologize to you for any un-Christlike words spoken in any un-Christlike tone which I have spoken at any time in any of my replies to you that have caused you unnecessary pain.

Will you now also be the Christian and apologize to everyone whom you have offended on this forum with sarcasm and ill thrusts including Ron and myself whom you have falsely accused of bashing women in our churches ?

Will you apologize for this un-Christ-like comment to me yesterday ?
NHim said: But I would rather put your credibility on the line. That would be much more satisfying.

You may still choose not to do so but I want you to know that I forgive you anyway and I love you with the love of Christ my friend. Take heart and don't be discouraged.

Now let's address the words I posted.

Tyrone said:There is a false statement being attributed to Sister White that does not appear in her writings.

This is true. Here is the quote you posted.

"It is God's design to restore that similitude by giving to man victory over sin and over every temptation. The restoration will be completed at the second coming." 7BC 649

This comes from volume 7 of the SDA Bible commentaries. The SDA Bible commentaries are not the writings of Ellen G. White.

The statement you posted is included in the SDA Commentaries but what is most significant is this additional fact. It is not a statement made by Ellen G. White.

The statements made by Ellen G. White that are found in the SDA Bible commentaries have been included in the book entitled Ellen G. White Comments (Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 7a).

I don't need to find a set of SDA commentaries to know what the servant of the Lord said because her statements that are found in those commentaries have been condensed and published in the book which I have a copy of and is entitled - once again - Ellen G. White Comments (Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 7a).

Once again - the SDA Bible commentaries are not the writings of Ellen G. White.

Going to the SDA commentaries to verify the particular statement you posted simply means verifying what one of the scholars or authors said and not what Ellen G. White said under inspiration. While, I respect the scholars contribution to the SDA commentaries, it is the words of the Bible and our prophet that should settle the question as to what is to be restored at the return of Christ.

The reason I did not find it in my volume 7a which I have a copy of is because it was not a statement made by Ellen G. White.

The Ellen G. White is working on releasing all the unpublished additional material sometime later this year according to what I was told when I spoke to a representative there.

Here is elder Fagal's reply to a question about the SDA Bible commentaries

Dear _______,

If I have misunderstood your question, I am afraid I still am misunderstanding it, because it looks to me like you are asking why the Ellen G. White CD-ROM does not have all the information that the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary has. I pointed out to you that the Bible Commentary is not part of the writings of Ellen G. White, though each volume has a small section of Ellen G. White comments at the back. Those comments were included in our Ellen G. White CD-ROM, but the rest of the Bible Commentary was not, since it was not written by Ellen G. White. You will find the full commentary about Revelation 9 on the SDA Bible Commentary CD-ROM, but not on the Ellen G. White CD-ROM.

As far as credibility goes, you mention it again as something being at stake. I did not initiate discussion of it and it seems to be an issue with you. You brought it up and said that you were willing to stake your credibility on that one statement from the Spirit of prophecy which we now know was not a statement made by our prophet. I would not stake my credibility or anything for that matter on one statement from the commentaries, the Spirit of prophecy or one Bible verse. Credibility does not define truth.

Just a word of caution: you seem a little preoccupied with credibility. Credibility and reputation are often associated together. Jesus had some words of warning for religious people who were preoccupied with credibility and reputation. We even know who this class of religious people were. Nothing more needs to be said.

NHim said: You've claimed to have gone to "other" sources but yet refuse to simply go and find a set of SDA commentaries and look it up to verify.

I told the truth. I did not "claim" to have looked up the statement in other sources, I actually looked it up on the CDrom and in volume 7a. It was not there because she did not say it.

NHim said: You seem rather defensive about this quote. Then you try to a way to twist our prophet so as to confirm your erroneous theories. Is this Christian ?

That is an assumption that you are making. I have no reason to be defensive about this quote. My concern is that it is falsely attributed to Ellen G. White when in actuality it is not her words. The SDA commentaries contain the comments of authors/scholars and some Ellen G. White comments at the back. The statement you posted was not the statement of our prophet so the claim that I twisted her words is untrue.

Even though Sister White did not make the statement, I chose to deal with it anyway for your sake. I agreed with it and pointed out what the statement lacked. That is not twisting anything. If the references from the Bible and Spirit of prophecy which I supplied are unfounded or erroneous theories as you claim, your position is even less untenable.

In other words, you are trying to sustain your position with one statement and that statement was not even made by Ellen G. White.

Thank you for allowing my reply.
Tyrone ... is it Christian to bear false witness? For why do you falsely accuse me?

You state: "My concern is that it is falsely attributed to Ellen G. White when in actuality it is not her words"

At NO time was it ever "attributed" to Ellen G. White. It was attributed to the Seventh Volume of the SDA Commentaries. This is accurate. I have to assume that it was YOU that falsely assumed and attributed it to our prophet. For at no time did I ever attribute it to Sister White.

Again ... whether you like it our not ... your credibility is suffering again. If you value your word and your credibility ... I call upon you to provide proof of your statement and accusation that I "falsely attributed (it) to Ellen G. White when in actuality it is not her words"

I look forward to seeing your attempt to justify falsely accusing me. And for bearing false witness against me.
Hi Tyrone

You said

I have read your reply and respect your opinions and appreciate you sharing your thoughts. It seems clear from the Bible and the Spirit of prophecy that the angel who fell from heaven has claimed that no human being can live without sinning.

Hi Tyrone - where is that in bible ??pls educate me??

Actually - Satan wanted to be God and tempted eve with the same thing - to be as God - according to Story of Redemption pg 34, Gen 3:4

God is sinless -

We all know that
Ellen White says in Steps to Christ , ... The closer you come to Jesus, the more faulty you will appear in your own eyes; for your vision will be clearer, and your imperfections - friends -

thanks dean
This is very good stuff. An excellent point. Thanks for this post.

Our prophet was pretty clear wasn't she?

Thanks Dean. Appreciate you being here. You add much to the discussions.

We do need to get back to the precious message and precious truths that God has given us.
Hi Dean.

I will show you in the Bible and in the Spirit of prophecy. Let me address what you have said first.

Dean said:Actually - Satan wanted to be God and tempted eve with the same thing - to be as God - according to Story of Redemption pg 34, Gen 3:4

Isn't that sin ? Didn't sin begin with Lucifer who is now known as Satan ?
Doesn't Satan have a vested interest in keeping everyone sinning ?

Dean said:God is sinless -

This sounds like a reaffirmation of something that most people, even those who are not 7th Day Adventists seem to know. This is not new information.

Dean said: We all know that

Great. the more we agree on these principles the more unified we can be.

So far, you have said nothing that I or anyone else on this forum disagrees with. Praise the Lord. We all agree on these things.

Now - let's see in the Bible and the Spirit of prophecy where Satan claims human beings cannot live without sinning.

Please refer here to see this subject already covered in a blog article I posted- http://www.adventistonline.com/profiles/blogs/who-do-you-agree-with...

I can't imagine Satan wanting human beings to stop sinning nor can I imagine God wanting human beings to keep sinning especially since the reason Jesus died was because of sin.

Thank you for allowing my reply
Hi Dean.

I appreciate you referring to "Steps to Christ". That is wonderful. The Spirit of prophecy is very clear.

It's just like her being so clear about Satan saying human beings cannot live without sinning.

Satan declared that human beings could not live without sin. {RH, March 9, 1905 par. 8}

Christ took humanity and bore the hatred of the world that He might show men and women that they could live without sin, that their words, their actions, their spirit might be sanctified to God. -Manuscript 97, Oct. 16, 1909,

Seems to be a disagreement here between Christ and Satan. Everyone chooses who they agree with.

If want more detail, let me know.

Thank you for allowing my reply
I think it best that we keep with scripture and the unpoluted interpretations of Prophet White.

Hi Teresa -and all others I suggested all to read the book - its up to you whether you want to - no compulsion :)
Clearly you understand - so n need to argue- :)
but i not only do i suggest this for you will e g white -

i suggest the bible as well - again - ur choice -

i used to read the bible and ellen white in this way to until i educated myself -

therefore the suggestion :)

Again - you have not answered the question with this post or the following posts - i showed you where ellen white said exactly the opposite to what you are saying - therefore going to the Bible - which she recommended - countless times

AND you have still not answered the question -

where does Gods word say - go and be sinless or one can live a sinless life????
not holy, merciful, perfect(which i explained the context but obviously u dont need someone to tell you how to read - right - cause u know).......not without spot, not whatever else you are saying - what you are doing is putting an interpretation on a text instead of letting the text talk - therefore education is necessary -

eg. exegesis of the text - anyone can take one verse out of the bible and put any interpretation on it

Again please someone show me - after reading my first text - where God asks us to be sinless - and why we need to be, and if you now anyone that is -

show me from the word

thanks

dean

first, my brother, thank you for being so insulting. i dont remember when i insulted you, but apparently you felt it was deserved for some reason, so be it. :)

second, i dont know where i gave the impression that i was so ignorant of the word, but again thank you for the insults, as i said you must feel they were deserved for some reason....

third i do remember putting up some texts somewhere, but i dont know if they were responded to or not, cause i dont check all the time, cause i figure people have their reasons for believing as they do and im not real into slinging insults back and forth and arguing...

i dont know how you read without spot or blemish, but i read it as sinless. if you dont so be it. as i said im not going to argue with you, and im not going to sling insults back and forth. are we clear on that? it looks just too childish and stupid to me, tho i did indulge in such vulgar behavior in the past, and am still tempted far too often now. :)

but if you feel insulting someone you disagree with somehow makes you right, by all means, please continue.

Eph 5:25 ... even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

this says to me that God wants to rid me of all sin. now i was born and raised in the same church you were, if youre sda, and believe me, i do understand where you are coming from!! the church made a person hypercritical and their definition of sin was vague and unattainable. put that together with a person who is honest with themself and sees how faulty one is, and how often one fails, yeah, theres a problem!!

but God said He would clean me up if i just surrender to Him, stay in the word, stand on the promises, and pray with all my heart.

i believe if it is up to me to clean me up its hopeless, but i have seen God be able to change me, -with my permission- so im "confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Php 1:6

and to tell you the truth, i like it when i have the victory over some sin-as in hate it and never want to do it again-i feel so free and good!.
Yes. Amen. One thing I remember from the word of God which says that "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
the seal and sealing-

to be covered-

I also saw that many do not realize what they must be in order to live in the sight of the Lord without a high priest in the sanctuary through the time of trouble. Those who receive the seal of the living God and are protected in the time of trouble must reflect the image of Jesus fully. {Mar 242.5}

Had not Jacob previously repented of his sin in obtaining the birthright by fraud, God would not have heard his prayer and mercifully preserved his life. So, in the time of trouble, if the people of God had unconfessed sins to appear before them while tortured with fear and anguish, they would be overwhelmed; despair would cut off their faith, and they could not have confidence to plead with God for deliverance. But while they have a deep sense of their unworthiness, they have no concealed wrongs to reveal. Their sins have gone beforehand to judgment and have been blotted out, and they cannot bring them to remembrance. {GC 620.1}

When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. {COL 69}

Without perfection of character no one can enter the pearly gates of the city of God, for if, with all our imperfections, we were permitted to enter that city, there would soon be in heaven a second rebellion. We must first be tried and chosen, and found faithful and true. Upon the purification of our character rests our only hope of eternal life. {2SAT 294.3}

When Jesus leaves the sanctuary, then they who are holy and righteous will be holy and righteous still; for all their sins will then be blotted out, and they will be sealed with the seal of the living God. But those that are unjust and filthy will be unjust and filthy still; for then there will be no Priest in the sanctuary to offer their sacrifices, their confessions, and their prayers before the Father's throne. Therefore what is done to rescue souls from the coming storm of wrath must be done before Jesus leaves the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. {Mar 242.7}

Those who exercise but little faith now, are in the greatest danger of falling under the power of satanic delusions and the decree to compel the conscience. And even if they endure the test they will be plunged into deeper distress and anguish in the time of trouble, because they have never made it a habit to trust in God. The lessons of faith which they have neglected they will be forced to learn under a terrible pressure of discouragement. {GC 622.1}

Satan was trying his every art to hold them where they were, until the sealing was past, and the covering drawn over God's people, and they left out, without a shelter from the burning wrath of God, in the seven last plagues. {RH, August 1, 1849 par. 10}

God has begun to draw this covering over his people, and it will very soon be drawn over all who are to have a shelter in the day of slaughter. God will work in power for his people; and Satan will be permitted to work also. {RH, August 1, 1849 par. 11}

The Lord Jesus Christ has prepared a covering--the robe of His own righteousness--that He will put on every repenting, believing soul who by faith will receive it. Said John, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). Sin is the transgression of the law. Christ died to make it possible for every man to have his sins taken away. {UL 378.2}
