How should we describe the Godhead or Trinity?

Are they one God in three persons?

Are they one God in three person?

Or, is there another way to describe the relationship between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

I am interested.

God Bless, Alex.

I read this in this forum;

"What I have said here will be very hard to comprehend by many here but, can we really comprehend the Godhead?? Only one God three distinct person not persons.

Also, I never knew the SDA church promotes three Gods."

Alex, same goes for you to son, as you clearly don't understand how Michael became Jesus Christ by being placed into Mary by the Father AND the Holy Spirit as a zygot, like we do 'test tube babies' today.  Jesus could NOT have any DNA from Mary as this would have caused Jesus to not be perfect as the "Passover Lamb".  Of course you will not understand this until you too become like a child and get rid of your preconcieved ideas and dogma passed down by people who never knew Jesus.

I not too sure I understand what is going on here but what I do know is that Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit so then the Holy Spirit Melchisedec.

Rich is no longer a member of this site and will not answer you. His opinions are not in accordance with the bible either, he does not believe in most of the new testament.

Rich is no longer a member here according to his page.

Leslie Ann, have you converted from Catholicism?  I ask because SDAs do not believe in the "immaculate conception" put forth by them.

We believe Mary to have born as the rest of us, from sinful parents with the tendency to sin, as we are.

I don't know where you get that Melchisedec is the HS, tho.  We aren't told enough from the scriptures to make that assumption.

oops, I hadn't seen Ezra's response.

Teresa

No i have been SDA all my life and yes I believe that Mary was born as the rest of us. don't know why you asked.

From my studies Melchisedec is the Holy Spirit. Read Hebrews 7 and Sabbath sermon posted a link here on it which has info you can take a look at it also.

blessed.

Teresa

Jesus could not have come through the order of no sinful man he had to come through perfect hence he came through the order of Melchisedec the Holy Spirit who the bible refers to the King of Peace and Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

I think I can clear up the confusion. Leslie Ann, you said that Mary was conceived by the Holy spirit. I think you meant to say she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. I hope that clears up that.

ezra Moore

Yes she was impregnated by the Holy Spirit that is biblical. but isnt that the same as being conceived??

No, I will try and explain it. When you say someone was conceived, that is saying that the egg that would one day become that person was fertilized. So when you say that Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit it means that before Mary was born the Holy Spirit fertilizedthe egg that she came from. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks Ezra. :)

For Mary to be conceived would be speaking of her parents having conceived her, her mother being then pregnant with Mary.

For Mary to be impregnated, on the other hand, is speaking of Mary herself being pregnant.

Yes, I read Sabbathsermons site.  There really isn't any proof of his belief that Melchisedek was the Holy Spirit, especially when Ellen White said Hebron was the home of Melchisedec.

Twenty miles from Hebron a place was selected as the future metropolis of the kingdom. Before Joshua had led the armies of Israel over Jordan it had been called Salem. Near this place Abraham had proved his loyalty to God. Eight hundred years before the coronation of David it had been the home of Melchizedek, the priest of the most high God. It held a central and elevated position in the country and was protected by an environment of hills. Being on the border between Benjamin and Judah, it was in close proximity to Ephraim and was easy of access to the other tribes. {PP 703.1}

if I could just post something, it does not really address how to describe the Godhead but I have noticed that some on here are saying that They are not three separate persons.

In Genesis we read: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". God in this verse is plural, so even Moses understood that there were more than one individual involved in creation. Not sure if it will help anyone but I just wanted to point that out.

Happy Sabbath,
