Many sources state that the english word God is an adoption of nordic and germanic references to pagan gods and that Allah is a closer prounciation and reference to the hebrew Elohim God. This is just one of the sources I got when doing a google.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_%28word%29

"........What if the spirit the mighty spirit of Allah by the way I got some letters from viewers after that last teaching, and one viewer said don't you know that the name Allah is a name for Lucifer? I hope you never never never never never embrace that. Allah listen carefully now Allah is closer to Elohim the Hebrew name for god then is our English word god. In fact hold on to your seats the English name for god is a Nordic pagan god. We have taken a pagan god's name and we've said that is the name of our God. And we all call him god. That's a pagan a Nordic pagan myth. So don't you ever get pushed into the corner where your saying Allah is a demonic name, Allah is the name of the living God. Allah is the creator of the Universe, Allah is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael Jethro, Job and even Baalim." -  Dwight Nelson

From what I know Allah had no sons so therefore he cannot be God.

Why do you say no ?

Well I have not read the quran but from what i have heard is that it says Allah had no sons. I learned this from watching the dvd 'the truth behind hip hop'

You learned about Allah from a DVD about hip hop ? Quite interesting ? I learned about the word Allah by reading the Bible and Quran and using hebrew, aramaic and arabic cross referencing as well as speaking to a few biblical scholars and pastors about it.

I also know that muslims refer to the God of Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Eljah when using the word Allah. With out much a do, Just considering alone that muslims are praying to the God of Abraham and all these prophets is enough for me to consider that perhaps Allah and God are all one and the same God.

Bevan,

Do you ever read the quran, is the the must wicked book that I have ever read in my life!

Benicio

Yes I have read the Quran. Why do you say that it is the most wicked book ?

I actually fully agree with Dwight Nelson especially when he says that all seeds of truth can be found in the Quran like the Sabbath and the 2nd coming for example. I think that some Adventist have mis-understood him.

Bevan

You got to be joking right brother. Am I wrong or are you actually defending the quran??

Well you already do so unwittingly. "God" is a pagan word,so are you going to stop using that word?

I would say if you a western christian then don't worry about calling God Allah. Arabic christians however would correctly refer to God as Allah.

Naja Adventist and  other Christians who speak Arabic use the word Allah when they refer to God. So I will be very careful how I use the word. Just as careful on how I use the word God.
