Is it Alright That Our Church Schools/ DLC Join In the Parade During Fiesta Celebration of The Roman Catholic?
Here in the Philippines, Roman Catholics are traditionally celebrating festivals in their towns, baranggays, and cities. Some of our church schools here have Drum & Lyre Corps ( DLC ) . The city government and the baranggay council wrote letters to us to join on the civic and military parade. Would it be okay for us to join? Some brethren have some reactions for these but I asked our Education Department from the Conference and said we can. Could
you react on this ?

being from the philippines, i have an idea of what your asking, the answer would be, yes and no.
yes if your representing our mission, and what we stand for, to be the light of the world. and no, if they are just wanting you to be a part of their parade and band, and mix in to their bands, music and celebration.

you have heard of the rose parade in the states, and it was a big thing for the pathfinder clubs
i think we won on that contest for the display of the floats
then lately when alumnis from aup joined a parade in NY comments were spread that some of the
audience commented that UP as now become an adventist. of course this made the aupians feel proud
will they allow you to distribute literature? i suggest you ask that request

Is the rose and NY parade of pagan origin? The catholic church celebrates pagan seasons and ideals that a wraped with christiany. please read the comment made about in the G.C. page 571? it was wrote in another post to this question.

paganism if we follow on their processions, honoring their gods.
But if it is civic and military parade, it is for community service.
Not on their patrons.

First of all, there is nothing we can do in association with the catholic,we are by far the worst enemy of the catholic church,and they have the thrown of the dragon satan revelation 13:4,and they are our deadly enemy with satan power.Adventist need to stay away from the army any way,for their spirit is to kill human being,and that is the spirit of the devil.There is to be a mighty shaking to take place in the ADVENTIST CHURCH SOON,and,the catholic church is looking common ground to better shake the sda church.and those who are let themself manupilated by the catholic church,thinking,there is something which they can do in common are in great danger.There is no..common ground with the catholic church.It's action is subtle,and on has to be wise not to join them if you can not bit them.But going to bed with the enemy is not safe and healthy,and it does not matter how we look at it,or what details we are hidding behind.It is amazing to see,the very same thing the spirit of the prophecy warns us about,taking unto the enemy traps,is happening right under our eyes.i am sorry for our children who are not knowing any better,but the adults who are taking them unto such a parade are the gulties,who should know better.May God helps us and protected us in these later days for the snares of satan are very subtles.Great controvercy page 516,517,the asd is the target of satan and of the roman catholic church too.

To be clear: My response here is specifically regarding ministry to the community and not the individual doctrine of the Catholic denomination.
I respectfully disagree with you Emile. People have to be able to work together as we all live in this world. As Seventh-day Adventist Christians, we are enabled with spiritual Gifts in the Body--including that of Spiritual Discernment to where the lines need to be drawn.
If you personally have difficulty working in community or global ministry with non-SDA's that is something to present before the LORD prayerfully. But yes, as Jesus stated to the Disciples, just because a person isn't "like you" doesn't mean that GOD is not with the ministry.
