I can prove from the bible that God blessed polygamy - read where the COI came from - Jacobs many wives...
Prove it. :)
Some have had a burden in regard to the wearing of a marriage ring, feeling that the wives of our ministers should conform to this custom. All this is unnecessary. Let the ministers' wives have the golden link which binds their souls to Jesus Christ, a pure and holy character, the true love and meekness and godliness that are the fruit borne upon the Christian tree, and their influence will be secure anywhere. The fact that a disregard of the custom occasions remark, is no good reason for adopting it. Americans can make their position understood by plainly stating that the custom is not regarded as obligatory in our country. We need not wear the sign, for we are not untrue to our marriage vow, and the wearing of the ring would be no evidence that we were true. I feel deeply over this leavening process which seems to be going on among us, in the conformity to custom and fashion. Not one penny should be spent for a circlet of gold to testify that we are married. In countries where the custom is imperative, we have no burden to condemn those who have their marriage ring; let them wear it if they can do so conscientiously; but let not our missionaries feel that the wearing of the ring will increase their influence one jot or tittle. If they are Christians, it will be manifest in their Christlikeness of character, in their words, in their works, in the
What about the pastor's husbands ... are they to wear the wedding rings?
no way
As far as I know wedding rings are not so decorative, therefore they won't cost so much.

I have nothing for or against the wearing of wedding rings. It has nothing to do with salvation. If you feel like you're becoming a stumbling block to someone, then avoid wearing one.

Good Point Kiko.

I would also suggest that it can go both ways.

If you find that your opposition to a wedding band is causing others to stumble .... then avoid pushing this on others. This is just a divisive issue. We should be careful with our dogmatic approaches and try to keep our beliefs ... just that ... OUR beliefs and not try to impose them on others.

To each his or her own.

But one thing for sure ... we should not be looking to the behaviour of others. We should not allow what someone else does to discourage us . Look to Jesus ... the author of our faith.
Amen 4Him, thats the most important matter. Do what enhances your personal relationship with God and stop assuming all other Adventists should be just like you (generic), we are Adventists not Borgs...
yes but your action defines what kind of faith do you have.
I think the action of wearing a wedding ring is a good positive one that speaks well of the Biblical position of marriage.
Why do you think that Bible greats such as Joseph wore rings?

Why do you think that the prodigal son was given a ring?

Why do you think that we will wear gems in Heaven?
