God told Moses to take his shoes off because he was standing on Holy grounds. Could this have any implications for us since the entire Bible is inspired and God is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Any Holy grounds on the church?

i agree with the symbolic meaning of this text, but i also believe in its literal meaning. The lord is not one of confusion or great noise. in all his dealings He has been soft spoken, gentle, teaching. the only time i have seen evidence of Go getting upset in scripture is when the sellers and money changers turned His house into a market place and He overturned their tables and ran them out.

sometimes people complain that the sabbath worship is too boring, and they gravitate towards those churches that have this loud music, lots of stomping and shouting, rolling on the floor and dancing. gods worship is characterised by awe and reverence.

the elders in heaven bow reverently to him and sing holy holy holy; moses was asked to take off his shoe because it was holy ground.

wherever the presence of God is is holy ground. so our services should be characterised by awe and reverence to the almighty God

Amen Janelle

Welcome Janelle, you are so right. If we look back on the type and quality of the life of Jesus we will see that even His very gait was characterized by holiness. A holy God is worthy of holy worship from a holy people.

Love

Sis. Redva

I am sorry to participate years later. Me thinks I was not even a member yet. Thanks for reminding us of the need to be reverent and be humble in God's presence, to treat every'thing' located and used in His space and His time as sacred.  Madam Janelle has me tickled there and yes all the other comments ofcourse.  I find that we have taken God lightly re: being reverent in His Space.  Take the 'policy' that our or rather God's churches (buildings) should be multipurpose halls.  If we go with the brother's statement that says our bodies are also God's residency what would this mean (multipurpose halls) for worship purposes?  All 'god' have preferences for how they want to be worshiped and our God has his and Janelle I believe is on the nail's head right there. Notice, it should be quieter to walk on barefoot than when I have my black shoes on?  Ah! much has been said on this and yes, Sis Redva Holy God is worthy of Holy worship from a Holy people and we are the ones to be transformed. Live long and God bless.
