forgiveness is important but also if you injure someone or they think you injured them many people will take vengeance against that person for a very long time if they remain talking to them.  We are not to take vengeance just look at the story of Nabal and David and Abigail.  David's men helped Nabal and Nabal treated David harshly and Abigail helped David not kill Nabal and take vengeance on him so David married Abigail and Nabal was killed by the Lord.
