Why is it that conservatives, Christians in particular think that they have the moral high ground? They have even corned the phase, "moral majority", how self righteous!

Conservatism is not consistent with the acts of Jesus who was more of a progressive.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you....

Conservatives are more incline to persevere what has bee said no matter the pain that is inflected. SAD!

I do not accept this simplistic binary narrative, liberals good and conservatives bad.  It is a childish Hegelian philosophy that the end justifies means. Oh so Jesuit a concept.  So Gene are you saying that Jesus was a socialist?  I hear this often and I wonder if you can pigeon hole God in this way.  I also hear people say "I am a liberal because" as if they get a prize for falsely stating that they care more about people than those who do not share their beliefs and then if that is not enough they say they are progressive when in fact they are totally dogmatic and then apply labels and divide people to support their political narrative.  Things are more complex than this "left/right we gotta fight" argument.

Gene, Bart makes a good point.

First of all, the Bible does teach about loving your neighbor but it doesn't call for violence if someone does not agree with their narrative.

Again, you may want to do some research on the word progressive. If you have the slightest ideas that Christ was a socialist, you are wrong. Christ did not choose people who were lazy or depended on government. His disciples did not had a formal education but had a very strong work ethic.

Paul was a liberal NAZI because he led a genocide against the early church but quickly changed his stance after his encounter with Christ. Still, he was a capitalist because of his tent making business. The verse says, if you don't work, you don't eat. You reap what you sow. Even in the garden. before sin came into the world, Adam and Eve had to work so they can eat. God did not pamper them.

I disagree, Paul wasn’t a liberal NAZI but a conservative zealot Pharisee.  He was the type of person who would blow up a building with women and children inside and say he’s stopping abortions. He would go inside a place of business firing his assault rifle, terrorizing people because he heard some crazy story on the Alex Jones Show.

Some people do take advantage of the government, and when conservatives see people getting more government cheese than they think they should, those people are call lazy.  When they see corporations taking advantage of the government, they call it capitalism; right?

Bart, to answer your question, no I don’t believe Jesus was a socialist he wasn’t political.  But he was a social revolutionist.  Read his manifesto.

"The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me to tell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin, to announce the year of the Lord's favor.”

Gene, Social revolutionist what does that mean? Your comparing Jesus to Che Guevara?  Jesus was about converting individuals to do right not using government to force.  Judas was a socialist because he loved the purse and saw Jesus as  his ticket to being a powerful bureaucrat.

Good question, Bart. Also, is he going to compare Christ to Stalin or Mao?

That is based on:

Matt. 14:22-33; Mark 6:45-52; John 6:14-21

and Desire of Ages Chapter 40.

Are you sure you know about the word Progressive? You may want to do some research.
