Present Truth
The Bible says,
*2Peter 1:12---"Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth."
SOP says,
"There are many precious truths contained in the Word of God, but it is “present truth” that the flock needs now. I have seen the danger of the messengers running off from the important points of present truth, to dwell upon subjects that are not calculated to unite the flock and sanctify the soul. Satan will here take every possible advantage to injure the cause. But such subjects as the sanctuary, in connection with the 2300 days, the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, are perfectly calculated to explain the past Advent movement and show what our present position is, establish the faith of the doubting, and give certainty to the glorious future. These, I have frequently seen, were the principal subjects on which the messengers should dwell. {EW 63.2}
“The Lord desires that every soul who claims to believe the truth shall have an intelligent knowledge of what is truth...and searching for the strong evidences that sustain the fundamental doctrines that have brought us where we now are, upon the platform of eternal truth. {Evangelism, page 363.3}"
"There was a present truth in the days of Luther,—a truth at that time of special importance; there is a present truth for the church today. {GC 143}"
...The question is: Are our pastors preaching the "Present Truth" for this time???
And what IS the "Present Truth" for this time???

Saints,I am trying very hard to follow and understand the discussion on the subject of the Present truth.I am under impression that there is 2 type of present truth,which are divided the brethren.The foundation of 1844 and the Final organisation of the SDA church in 1863 was and is, based on the "Platform Present Truth",and that Platform will go on untill the End of time.And every pastor who received a trainning in our colleges,universities their studies was base on the present truth.......Yes....I Emile Lunion certify that the SDA pastors have been preaching the Present Truth since 1844.And we the SDA Church are in 200+ contries preaching the present thruth.If our pastors have not been preaching the present thruth since 1844,therefore be ready to stay in this life for at lease 100 years more.

Every time when, in the history, the people of God, took a bad dirrection, the senders of Him (prophets, judges) said: "Remember the - God of your parents/Who get you out from Egipt/The first love - " or simply: "Go back to Me!"... This message is contained in the message of the first angel... So, today, we can not pass to the third angel message without pass to the first angel message and the second one... OK, now we know the guidline... But the question is: Am I worship to the True God?
Look to the whole cristianity: it was generate the greatest's wars of the world, the inquisition and so many problems... Is the same God promoted by the cristianity today vs the True God promoted by Jesus Christ? How can I know what is the "present truth" for this time if I don't know if I'm worship to the True God, the God of Jesus Christ (John 17:3)?... Here, everyone must find the answer to the question: "Am I worship to the True God?".... After that each one can preach the angels message...
Think: Why Jesus did not come until now, if our pastors preached the third angel message many years (more than 100)?

Who is the Prophet are you reffering to?No one knows the day of his coming,no the son,no the angels,but the father only knows the day of his coming.It is not for you to know the day that the Lord shall restore the kingdom of Israel,but be faithful untill the End ,and a corwn of glory shall be giving unto you.Thanks God the end has not come yet,for it give us a little time of respite to get ready.

The question was for everyone: Am I worship to the True God?
You say: "...but the father only knows the day of his coming." As you see, the real problem here is the worship to the True God - more precisely: to identify Him! - so, if you say that: only the Father know... then who is the True God?
After that, was the question: Am I able to preach the "present truth" to another man/woman/human, if I do not worship to the True God? (pls. see my comment below - where you ask/answer on saturday to DMJ)
I'm not refering to an specific prophet, I was refering to all prophets, also no references to "the day" of second coming - I was refering to the failure today to preach the "present truth" - the third angel message - by the SDA church (as you see - the preach have no expected power and most often is missing...) and this topic is connected with the second comming day!
Understand this: If I'm not able to identify the True God, the result is: I'm not worship to the True God, I'm not able to preach His message, even I know His message - the power of God is not fully in my message (as you see: the message now is MINE, not HIS, and I have no power), and finally: I'm identified BY THE TRUE GOD AND HIS SON with the world, not with the God's people (or, if you prefer with a got, not a sheep)... see the ecumenical ministry of the church today to understand what direction we have: to the world or to the True God...
Finally: if we have "a little time of respite to get ready", this is not the will of God - remember the exodus episode where Moses was informed what was the plan of God: to destroy His people and make another people, thru Moses... and OT is full with same ideeas... Now, you must not fall in the other part, and ask me: "do you mean that God have no power?" I'm not saying that! But God Himself is right and not destroy all His people: He raises a remnant - there is His power! Did you see His remnant today? What are they preaching now: the third angel message without power or what else?...

I don't want to be overly contentious but... how on earth can you make such a statement? I do not believe that you personally know every pastor and hear every message being preached, so such a comment becomes baseless.
If the three angels' message is not being preached in your local area, I sympathise, but please don't condemn every SDA pastor on that basis.

If every pastor was truly indeed preaching the 3 Angels message, the world would be warned of the gospel by now. The gospel would have gone throughout the entire world & there would be a people prepared to stand in the day of the Lord. Jesus would have come back by now.
The only logical conclusion here is that OVERALL, the pastors are NOT preaching the 3 Angels Messages. They are not preaching "Present Truth", which is meat in due season-the truth for this time.

There is a famine for the Word of the Lord.
*Amos 8:11-12..."Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

DMJ,yes indeed there will be a famine for the word of God whitch is soon to come.But this do applied to the SDA church,but for the world.For the house of God has a alot foods.

It's the SDA church identifying itself with Laodiceea? If the answer is YES (we all know that it is), why Jesus Christ tell to the angel of SDA church to repent? Have no enough food this angel? What sin have done this SDA angel (because the blindness, poverty, naked, villain are the effects of this sin) and when did it?
If he did a sin (who believe Jesus Christ and His words?), how we expect today, to gave the third message to the world? What power it is in this message proclamed by a sinner (who no repent - because have no declared/recognized his sin)?
If we apply the letter to the people (not to the angel), to us - to me! - what sin I have done? Why Jesus tell me that I'm poor, blind, naked, jerk or bastard - like my church angel? What sin I have done? When? It is possible that Jesus is trying to tell me something that I don't know? What will be? The same sin, like my church angel? How is possible? I have a faith, the good one - but why I'm considered blind, naked, jerk by Jesus? I have the truth, the good one - but what sin I have done? Who can answer?
