Should a pastor officiate newly married couples exchange rings in church? if NO why? if yes Why?
we are not talking about make ups here; we are speaking about something the bible clearly prohibits- jewellery
whether im for or against an opinion or point...making a comment post into a novel is totally not cool or temperate. Tone it done a few thousand words please!
I posted essentially the same sentiment several days ago, and it was deleted by the admins of this website, because it was thought to be violating the policies for "non-confrontational posting".
There are a couple of men who have made REPEATED postings on this topic, who are, in my opinion, the worst form of hypocritical Pharisee (see Ellen White quote above). You know who you are, and I hope that others on here have the discernment to see who and what you are.
And if THIS posting is removed by the admins, then I will have to just leave this website to the wolves in sheep's clothing.
Watch out sheep, there ARE wolves and lions who go about seeking out whom they may devour and destroy.
But Jesus said, "My sheep know my Voice." Please Brothers and Sisters, let us all listen for the sound of the Master's Voice, and ignore the shrill accusations of the self-righteous condemners of the saints.
Good point, Harold.
Thank you Harold!
A deeply thought provoking quote. And much needed.
That post is powerful. It attests to the fact that if we ALL would let the Holy Spirit do his work, we ALL would be better off. When we interject what we think is right, this is the filthy rags spoken about in the bible. We shouldnt let filthy rags get in the Spirits way. The spirit will lead us to encourage someone who is in error. When we do it without the spirit....well you have seen these 1000 page threads on here...the Spirit is in none of that. The Spirit leads to ALL truth and edifies. Thanks be to God for the aid of the Holy Spirit. If we think wearing jewelry or wedding rings is wrong, instead of giving our opinion, even if its based on the Bible, we need to PRAY and seek the Spirit's council on how to approach the matter. 9 times out of 10 we believe we can convince or win a soul without the aid of the Holy Spirit, which is foolishness...because it is the Spirit that wins and not us AT ALL. From time to time i notice that i have to check myself even on this site, because many of the posts would provoke an immediate HUMAN response from folk. Any many of the topics are brought up and thought up out of an unsettled mind or a mind which LOVES debate. THIS IS A SIN! The bible speaks on those who love to stir up debates for self praise and vanity. Whenever i see posts in which NO ONE is being led to Christ, but rather is just made for upsetting arguments in which SDA's are pushed to their emotional limit, but cant curse lol, i am displeased. Im displeased at my self for engaging in it as well. When are we going to be able to have meaningful discussions which edify, without ending in war and strife? How about everyone put their pride aside and ANY question you have, seek the Lord for the answer. This should not be a debate site. If there is something you dont understand, ask it, but ask it in humility. Dont ask and then answer you own question. Jesus is in NONE of this...and as is common in these last days, Gods people are caught up in frivelous arguments and debates, totally distracted from the sneaky work of the enemy. It is the ENEMY which is the author of these distracting debates! NONE of this is of God because GOD IS LOVE! There is no LOVE in heated debates therefore it is NOT OF GOD! BELOVED LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER and not debate!!!! I lament for my church!!!!
There was no need for this post to be deleted. This is just one quote to keep those 'correcter', who are driven by self-importance who apply their own standards on others, in check. These persons who pronounce judgement and criticize others are generally not Christians. They are very bitter persons whose objective is to make other bitter as themselves; they are sons and daughters of Satan.
On the other hand we have very clear Christian standards and rules which all Christians must follow. Adventists do not wear Jewellery, they dress very plain and simple, are not extravagant except in giving etc.
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 1 Timothy 2:9
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 1 Peter 3:3
