In Papua New Guinea as a missionary we chopped wood and cooked meals in the kitchen for the boarding students every Sabbath....there is no other way to do this....many of us have gas and cooking takes only several minutes...I can cook a meal from peeling the veggies to steaming them in under 30 minutes....in the Missionary days it took 3 hours of more...for over 300 students...

The torah teachings were meant to be obeyed as your are able to obey them...they are not legal commandments, but sadly most Adventists do not even know the torah teachings, let alone obey them...I follow them all because my love in Jesus seeks to be complete, others are loving Jesus but their love is not yet complete...be careful in loving Jesus from legalism...

http://spiritualsprings.org/ss-1081.htm Here is list over some 3,500 torah teachings which out of love we should follow...
Remember those who are forgiven much love much...thoise forgiven little love little...how more or less you love is up to you and your BIble readings in Jesus...GOd bless your journey and your prayer life in Him...

I would also go to my home page and read how to have a deeper relationship with Jesus...SHalom,

Now sud we cook on sabbath or not?

There is one word that defines what is acceptable on the Sabbath, and what is not acceptable.

"Holy".

If cooking is "holy", then it is no transgression on the Sabbath, but if the act of cooking (in the heart of the person doing it) is a "common" act, then that person will defile their conscience -- for them it is a transgression.

The priests of old were to "teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane [i.e.common]..." (Eze 44:23). This is still a role for our ministers today.

Many of us, however, are not able to discern between the "holy" and the "common".

Please clarify further on holy and common cooking

Here is the plain instruction given to us from the Spirit of Prophecy regarding Sabbath cooking:

"On friday let the preparation for the Sabbath be completed. See that all the clothing is in readiness and that all the cooking is done. Let the boots be blacked and the baths be taken. It is possible to do this. If you make it a rule you can do it. The Sabbath is not to be given to the repairing of garments, to the cooking of food, to pleasure seaking, or to any other wordly employment. Before the settling of the sun let all secular work be laid aside and all secular papers be put out of sight." Testimonies vol. 6 p. 355
