We have entered February of 2011 and the world is breaking from its seams. Protest in Egypt, Earthquakes in the Pacific, budget deficits through out America... The end of the world is at our door steps. All we need is the Sunday Laws and then, it is all over.

The question of the week is:

When do you think the Sunday Laws will take effect?

I believe the Sunday Laws will come soon, 2015 (Summer). God is giving us 4 years to finish His work. God bless and look forward to your comments.

Hello John, I respect your comments and I do know that no one knows the time and day of our Lord's coming but my comment was just based on observation. I also know that God is very merciful and He can extend what seems to be urgent to later. I am not one of those SDA's that claim that God will return in about 50 to 100 years from now because that's just foolish. I prefer to live on a Spiritual edge and always be on my toes then claim that the Lord is given us years of leeway. For all we know, the Sunday Law make be enacted at the end of this year. We do not know how much time God will give Satan an opportunity to reign this fallen planet. I do know that God wants us to be always prepared.

Like I said John, I was basing my comment on observation, just observation, and my observation is telling me that we don't have more than 9 years now, 4 years is my guess. Sin is too much for the everyone to bear. Probation must close because the children of God are calling for His return. Take for example the Entertainment Industry, have you noticed how Occult and Lustful it has become? Do you think it can get any worse? You have a little 10 year old (Willow Smith) singing, dancing, and dressing like a grown up...Satan is trying to reach pre-teen girls and corrupt their souls...what's next, 7 year old's?

I am not here to argue with you John, I just want you to state your observations and opinions, we are not setting dates, we are just discussing a topic that's really important in these last days.

Sincerely you brother in Christ,

Michael Alvarez-

Dear John,

Like I've said before, I am not setting a time and date. I would like for you to explain how my observation is wrong in light of the Bible and SOP?

When Christ is lifted up and we recognise all His appointed times. Then ( ALL THE PAGAN TIMES WILL BE EXPOSED ). ie: easter, christmastime, new years day,  ........monday, tuesday.......

When everyday speaks of His day, 1st day after Sabbath 2ed day after Sabbath...... preparation day, Sabbath.

Then the blessings of God will fallow. And we will be known and read of all men.

You know what Bill, you are on to something here. For hundreds of years Christians have been walking in the steps of paganism and have not said a word. Even in our very own SDA churches many celebrate Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day. We need to be more vocal because the truth must be exposed and I strongly believe there is a Reformation going on in the church, the shaking is starting to take place, and many are being more accepting of God's grace. The End is near.

Its not how loud we are . Its our day to day life that speaks volumes. Its our day to day habits that show who leads in our lives.

Did Christ call all those people to the mountain to give them the sermon on the Mt. No , they fallowed because the Holy Spirit convicted them He had answers concerning there lives. All because of His habits and manners and His prayer life.

Satan is exposed because of our habits, { when and where we do things } manners, { how we treat people } and our prayer life { where our head is at ( values ) }.

Jesus said that there are wheat and tears in the church. Jesus says they will grow together till the time of harvest. The wheat and tears looks similar, only by their fruits will you know them.  Satan has planted some of his people in the church to bring discord and mistrust. We should expect some people in the church to be saying and doing things contrary to God's words.

There will be a shaking. We have to make sure that we are not shaken out.  Live right according to God's words. Put away paganism, sin and anything that is unlike God. Keep your eyes on Jesus and not Man, for when the shaking comes many who appears upright and stable will be shaken out. Sis White says whole conferences will be lost.  God have mercy upon us.  Let us pray for strength to run this race, for if we can't run with the footmen we won't keep up with the horses.

Best not to look at either the wheat nor the tares. No need to figure out which is which. Just keep your eyes focused on Jesus rather than sinful people.
This is a great subject. I am amazed at how the origins and meanings of these holiday observances have slipped past the church. We see the truth in part but it is a struggle to shed these traditions. People seem to think that they are fun and harmless. I disagree, and there is no command in the Bible to observe them. If they were holy days then they would not be tainted by the world.

John,

I don't think Michael is time setting but just making an observation he never said when Jesus is coming but just when he believes Sunday Laws might come, those are 2 totally different events. Their is nothing wrong to observe the times and know when God is at the door. Doesn't he say in Matthew 24:15 say

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’[a] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."

Jesus told them to wait and watch for that sign, I believe the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel is closer than we think, just look at the way the Ecumenical Movement is moving today, it will not be soon till they have a Sunday Law.

God even told us to Watch:

1 Thessalonians 5:6 "Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober."

Revelation 3:3 "Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you"

God even says that if we do not watch then he will come to us by surprise, nobody wants to be asleep when God comes, for that reason God has given us signs to look for.

In regards to EGW did she not make bold statements about when she believe Jesus might come

“Some are looking to far off for the coming of the Lord.  Time has continued a few years longer than they expected; therefore they think it may continue a few years more, and in this way their minds are being led from present truth, out after the world.  I saw that the time for Jesus to be in the most holy place was nearly finished and that time can last but a very little longer.”  Early Writings, p. 58.

"I was shown the company present at the Conference, Said the angel: "Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus." Ellen G. White, 1Testimonies, p. 131-132. May 27,1856

She even believed that time was short, Her accusers use the very same quotes to say that she was a Time Setter, the signs were there during her time and the signs are even worse now. If Sunday Laws happen 50 years from now all that God is doing is giving his church more time, just like he did during the time of Sister White. The time is at hand, their is so much going on this world that everything out there points to his Soon Return.

God Bless,

Mitch

Bill,

1844 was time setting, wondering when SUNDAY LAWS will come is not considered time setting, Ellen White herself believed that Jesus was going to come in her lifetime she even said "some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus", was she not SPECULATING on Jesus second coming?

God does no command us to let the Signs of the Times play themselves out, if he did he would not have given us signs to watch for. He commands us to Watch. When somebody is on watch he has a duty to say what he sees.

And of course we should be prepared, for nobody knows when his last breath is going to be, that is only obvious but this thread is not about preparation but about what the question itself says "When do you think the Sunday Laws will take effect?"

It does not say when is Jesus coming, Ellen White wrote the Great Controversy as a way to know how soon Jesus Coming will be, as each chapter gets fulfilled in light with what is happening in the news today the closer we will know when Jesus will come.

All Michael said was about when he believed Sunday Laws where going to happen, when people start setting dates it is usually always in light of how they interpret scripture. Just take some a modern time setter like Harold Camping who believes that Jesus is coming on May 21, 2011. His time setting is not based on some random revelation that he got from God but he truly believes from the bible that that is when Jesus is going to come, for that reason he could convince thousands of people on that date. Nobody here is going to believe Michael or anybody's response to the question but each person has his own opinion on regards to the question being asked. We have the bible and EGW to let us now that nobody knows the day or hour of His SECOND COMING.

John,

I am new to this site and none of you know me. Having said that may I offer some advice? Your getting angry and your words are not being spoken with love. That is heresy in itself brother as the Bible has instructed us to be speak the truth in love. Maybe you should take a break and calm down before continuing. I agree that Michael was simply making an observation. He may be wrong or he may be close. Whatever your thoughts might be you are taking it too far and risking the alienation of your brethren. It's not worth it.

John,

I think you need some help brother. Your response was not even remotely Christ like. If you can't see fit to be civil I will be forced to report your actions. I am not scared of you or of your opinions of me. Let me be clear. I will say what I believe as often as necessary. I will do it in love but do it nonetheless.
