Obedience is to both the spirit and the written Word. How did man receive the Word of God? By three kinds of revelation, by prophesy. How did Elijah, Moses etc. do miracles etc.? By 7 manifestations of holy spirit man did those things in Old Testament.

God added 2 more manifestations of Holy Spirit in New Testament. God did not do that for a whim, or for no purpose unless you think God is a fool?

The ridicule, accusation of evil spirits, making fun of the two manifestations of Holy Spirit of speaking in tongues and its interpretation is foolish blasphemy without evidence and discerning of spirits.
NOT all manifestations of the supernatural are of Lucifer. I am not responsible nor is God for Kundalini spirits, the Toronto experience etc.

Many people are stiff-necked self works oriented and have no desire for, understanding or experience in walking by the spirit whatsoever.

God desires to communicate, empower and lead the people of God individually, but you will not have any of it. God will not generally communicate with those that ridicule his spiritual manifestations.
Therefore you have no guidance, power, deliverance, healing, discerning of spirits, edification, exhortation or comfort by prophesy and interpretation of tongues, no working of miracles, signs and wonders following, no foretelling either.

God's Word does not cover every situation, or what to do in a particular situation, at a specific time and circumstance. God, revelation and the other manifestations has literally saved my life many times from direct Satanic attack, such as the time a possessed woman ran me over with her car. God brought to remembrance to jump on the hood and roll off the car. The original information was in a book I had read on survival years before.

The manifestation of revelation gives knowledge, wisdom and can inform about any situation and also gives guidance and marching orders. Discerning of spirits is REVELATION of what is going on in the spiritual realm, what spirits are in operation in people, objects and Satanic devices, and even if the spirit of God is in someone, or whether they have evil spirits oppressing, demonizing etc. and whether you may cast them out. The judging by the flesh is wrong.

There is an antimosity and contentious and even hatred spirits prevalence by some on this site. Religious, bondage, fear and deceiving spirits are prevalent in SDA and Christianity in general that prevents people from the truth and having a close relationship with the spirit of God. Not all here are so, some here are kind and think beyond the SDA mindset.

In conclusion a blind, deaf and dumb Christianity, as hard headed as the Pharisees, and as quick to stone people figuratively. If given a chance, some would even be holding the real stones and put to death people that they thought were not following God in SDA dogma? Does that include you? I hope not.

Why is the need for this desperate urge to justify yourself? Most of us know God knows our heart and feel no need to justify ourselves before men. God is the one who justifies not us. It just drives home the fact you are very insecure.

So what is this James are you trying to wave the white flag? Or are you saying as long as we are nice to you everything will be good? What do you know about SDA anyway? Are you disappointed that they are not happy clappers like you? Why do you not go back to your own happy clapper church and Fellowship with likeminded people? You may find a few who go along with you, but those who understand the truths God has entrusted to the SDA Church will never become happy clappers. And we know you will not accept the truths SDA are custodians of. you remind me a lot about President Trump who insists that he is so wonderful that everyone should love him. The one who is deceived is you, my friend.

The ridicule, accusation of evil spirits, making fun of the two manifestations of Holy Spirit of speaking in tongues and its interpretation is foolish blasphemy without evidence and discerning of spirits.

Scripture please where "speaking in tongues" is evidence of the "HOLY SPIRIT"???????? You can watch TV preachers fake it all day long.  I am supposed to believe the Holy Spirit is spoken out of Bennie Hinn's  pie hole?  Nonsense.

Christianity in general that prevents people from the truth and having a close relationship with the spirit of God. Not all here are so, some here are kind and think beyond the SDA mindset.

In this statement why do you not capitalize the word "spirit" but capitalize the word "God".  Do you have respect the Holy Spirit as a person or just operate it like you would a car or other device?   I reverence the Holy Spirit, I have seen some very disrespectful things done and said of the Holy Spirit by Charismatic preachers.  That is why I doubt many of from this type of denomination.

Some are aware that blessings, healings, tongues, wealth and power can come from the devil.  I am not accusing you of this but it is quite evident that this sort of thing happens everywhere and often.  Some times a true blessing from the Lord Jesus is allowing true Christians to suffer and have difficult times in order for them to learn about faith or how to pray.  Evidence of the Holy Spirit does not have to be shouting and jumping up and down or anything in a Holly Wood cinematic dramatic fashion.  It can be simple and un-dramatic, such as making a wrong turn on a road to find someone stranded and cold and in need of a ride, or a thought to buying groceries for a hungry family. Many times you do not even know that you are "being "operated" by the Holy Spirit if you are open and empty vessel for the Holy Spirit, and this is the thing that I find wrong, the utter arrogance of saying I should operate the Holy Spirit. No the Holy Spirit should control me and I be humble like Jesus to allow it, not command the Holy Spirit as you say you do.  I find the Holy Spirit moving in quiet and loving gestures and less so in dramatic grand and loud shout fests by fat and arrogant pastors in three piece suits wearing gold masonic rings for example.  Not saying you do this but this is what I see typically from this type of worship.

The Binle states speaking in tongues is a sign. Jesus said it, Paul said it. The Day of Pentecost proves it. I do not approve of any counterfeit manifestations, doctrines or practices. The manifestations of holy spirit are not supposed to be "rolling around on the floor" or other kundalini spirit activities.

If we were discussing doctors of medicine, we would not address quacks that never went to medical school or had a residency in a hospital to learn their profession. But everytime I mention any manifestation someone brings up the counterfeit.

The majority of Christians are not even in the room of the unlearned, as there is no one to teach them or knows the basic principles of spiritual matters. There are no mentors to teach them, they have no residency in the holy spirit and its manifestations. There is little discerning of spirits, which IS REVELATION, NOT FLESHLY JUDGMENTS OF THE FLESH.

SPIRITUAL THINGS ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. IF THERE IS A COUNTERFEIT THERE MUST BE A GENUINE, IF THERE ARE QUACK DOCTORS, THERE MUST BE GENUINE DOCTORS.

Very true James and this is what you want to uphold as proof of being genuine notwithstanding the obvious display of your fruits of the flesh that you are doing and having here? As Jesus said:

Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Maybe you have to head the saying if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck and swims like a duck it is most likely a duck.

The "Binle" sorry Bible says that by their fruit you shall know them. And do we do see fruit on your tree and all of them are of the flesh, and not one of them are of the spirit? As the Saying of Jesus bears out just above.

" The Binle states speaking in tongues is a sign. Jesus said it, Paul said it. The Day of Pentecost proves it. I do not approve of any counterfeit manifestations, doctrines or practices. "

If there are scriptures saying that tongues are evidence of the Holy Spirit then you have still not given them or explained how you come to this conclusion.  Do you have any evidence that is not anecdotal about SDA not being spiritual.

"The majority of Christians are not even in the room of the unlearned, as there is no one to teach them or knows the basic principles of spiritual matters. There are no mentors to teach them, they have no residency in the holy spirit and its manifestations"

So are you saying the Bible is not enough you need a master manifester  like you to teach spiritual things? There has to be a test and the test has to be speaking in tongues?  The least of the gifts is the standard by which you judge what is spiritual?  The Bible says no where that speaking in tongues is a standard to judge spiritual matters by.  I have know Catholics that speak in tongues and dope smoking hippies that spoke in tongues. It is not a standard for anything.  If anything a reasonable actor can fake speaking in tongues. Many cults speak in tongues.   Even if some one had tongues of flames coming off the top of their head I would be respectfully skeptical and look for fruits and relationship to Christ.  The devil can come as an angle of light as I have stated to you before and given you scripture.  You need to do better in giving evidence from the Bible.

You just told us the speaking in tongues is a gift (manifestation) as you sometimes tell us. And now you say we need to learn, so what is it? I recall you said one time that you need to learn it before by special course. Even the village fool knows that it is either free or you need to pay for it. So you need to make up your mind do you not? What you are saying here is just so much lies as we usually get from you. You lied to get a membership here and you keep on lying. I remind you we still have the "Bindle" sorry Bible that you seem to ignore when it suits. The Bible claims for itself it Is the truth. The claims you have are lies from one end to the other.

Bible

You have not read either the Bible or my posts referencing, regarding signs that follow them that believe as Jesus said? As Paul said, as Peter said on Day of Pentecost?

A person can be so indoctrinated that cognitive dissonance dominates their thinking processes. They do not see or hear anything that contradicts their programming. Religion blinds the mind, whether that religion is Catholic, SDA, or science or whatever. Cognitive dissonance is a recognized condition.

All the Bible verses and Greek words and explaining will not profit you as you are conditioned to reject anything having to do with manifestations of holy spirit. Your insistence on calling them gifts after I have explained those usages of gifts are italicized in KJV because there is no Greek word in the texts of the original extent manuscripts.

James, You seem to ignore why the speaking in Tongues was given. It was given to the Apostles so they could preach the gospel in other languages. The Corinthians like you thought it was a good idea to babbling in foreign tongues. They like you were only using it to falsely demonstrate they were in the spirit.

You still have addressed where in the Bible you find speaking in tongues is a sign from God? Both I and Raymond has asked you to show us the verse where it says that. Seems like all you can say we do not read the Bible or your posts, maybe we have missed where you said that it should not be a lot of trouble for you to repost it if you actually did post it.

Mark 16: 17-18; "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

I Cor. 14:22; " Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe."

1 for. 14: 13-15 "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown (unknown added by translator) tongue pray that he may interpret.
For if I pray in an unknown (unknown added by trandlator) tongue, my spirit prayeth (context is speaking in tongues), but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit (speaking in tongues), and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit (Ap speaking in tongues; context), and I will sing with the understanding also."

1Co 14:16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit (speaking in tongues; context), how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? (Note thats because the person is new believer, has never been instructed in the spiritual matters, not knowing that speaking in tongues is profitable for many things, including giving thanks well. See next verse.)
1Co 14:17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
1Co 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
This verse is ignored by many, including you.

Copied from REV Commentaries by Spirit and Truth Frllowship International;

“speak in tongues.” Speaking in tongues is a manifestation of holy spirit that contributes greatly to the quality of our lives as Christians. Before we see what speaking in tongues is, it is helpful to examine five things it is not.

Speaking in tongues is not:

It is not a “gift.” No properly translated verse of Scripture calls speaking in tongues a gift. It is one of the “manifestations” of the gift holy spirit (1 Cor. 12:7-10).
It is not gibberish, babble, or a made-up language. Some languages sound strange to our ears, but the Word of God assures us that genuine speaking in tongues is indeed a language of men or angels.
It is not speaking a language you already know. When a person speaks in tongues, he does not know the language he is speaking. The Bible says, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful” (1 Cor. 14:14, cp. 1 Cor 14:2).
It is not designed for missionary work. The language people speak when they speak in tongues is not chosen by the person speaking, it is given by the Lord via the gift of holy spirit. The Bible gives many reasons Christians should speak in tongues, and missionary work is not one of them. Furthermore, there is no record in Scripture where anyone used speaking in tongues to do missionary work. That idea came from the early Pentecostal movement when God, apparently to show people that speaking in tongues was not gibberish, gave known languages to people as they spoke in tongues, just as he did on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:11). For example, when Agnes Ozman manifested speaking in tongues, she spoke in Chinese (Roberts Liardon, God’s Generals, p. 119). Upon hearing known foreign languages, people listening assumed speaking in tongues was for mission work.
Speaking in tongues is not “dead,” “gone,” or “passed away.” Some Christians believe that it was only for the early Church and is now gone, but that cannot be the case. Tongues is prayer in the spirit, is giving thanks well to God, is proof of one’s salvation, and more. Surely these things are as necessary in the Church today as they were in the first century. 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 says that speaking in tongues will pass away when “the Completeness comes,” and when we know even as we are known. That is still in the future, at a time when we will be with the Lord Jesus Christ as verse 12 makes clear when it says we will be “face to face” with him. Furthermore, we will know as we are known only when the Lord comes, and until then we will continue to know “in part” (1 Cor. 13:12).

Speaking in tongues is: Let us now look at 15 different and important things about speaking in tongues.

Speaking in tongues is a Christian speaking a language that he does not understand, a language that has been given to him by the Lord Jesus Christ via the gift of holy spirit.
It is something God wants us to do. “Now I want all of you to speak in tongues” (1 Cor. 14:5). The late J. E. Styles, a Charismatic teacher who led many people into speaking in tongues during his ministry, wrote, “From our own experiences, and from the testimony of many others, both ministers and laymen, we are convinced that every Spirit-filled child of God should speak with tongues every day in his own private prayer life” (J. E. Styles, The Gift of the Holy Spirit (Fleming H. Revell Company), pp. 37, 38.)
It is the absolute proof to a Christian that he is saved, born again, and guaranteed everlasting life in Paradise. Speaking in tongues is supernatural, i.e., it is beyond man’s natural ability. It is a God-given ability made possible by the presence of holy spirit that is born inside each Christian. No non-Christian can speak in tongues. Because speaking in tongues is a manifestation of holy spirit (1 Cor. 12:7-10), the only people who can speak in tongues are those who have holy spirit, and every Christian was sealed with holy spirit when he believed (Eph. 1:13).
Speaking in tongues makes a person operate the most basic principle of the Christian walk, which is trusting and obeying the Word of our heavenly Father. God says to speak in tongues, but to do so a Christian must trust that what God says is true, and then he must walk out on that trust and obey what God says.
It is a witness of the resurrection of Christ to the believer, and also a sign to unbelievers (1 Cor. 14:22).
It is speaking a language of men or of angels (1 Cor. 13:1) which explains why there are so many tongues that are not known human languages.
It is speaking to God, not to men (1 Cor. 14:2).
It is speaking sacred secrets (the Greek word mustērion means “sacred secret,” not “mystery,” and it is translated “sacred secret” in Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible). It is a blessing and a privilege for Christians to be able to speak sacred secrets to God by speaking in tongues.
It is speaking the wonders of God (Acts 2:11). On the Day of Pentecost, the tongues the Lord gave the apostles to speak could be understood by the audience, and even the skeptics had to admit that the apostles were speaking the wonders of God.
It is praise to God (Acts 10:46; 1 Cor. 14:16, 17).
It is giving thanks to our Heavenly Father (1 Cor. 14:17).
It is prayer in the spirit (1 Cor. 14:14, 15). It is very important to realize that speaking in tongues is prayer in the spirit. Sometimes Christians call fervent or emotional prayer “prayer in the spirit,” but in the Bible that phrase refers only to speaking in tongues.
It builds up the one speaking (1 Cor. 14:4; Jude 20). It does not build up the one speaking in tongues because he understands what he is saying, because he does not understand what he is saying when he is speaking in tongues. It builds him up in his trust and in his spiritual sensitivity, because the words have to come from the spirit to his mind.
It is under the speaker’s control. If the person does not “speak,” i.e., move his mouth, his tongue, and make the sounds, he will not speak in tongues. A Christian speaking in tongues can start and stop when he wants to. He can speak loudly or softly, he can sing or shout in tongues. Since it is under the speaker’s control, it can be misused and operated incorrectly. This is why the Word has directions in 1 Corinthians 14 of how to speak in tongues correctly. For example, there is no profit in someone standing up in front of a group and speaking in tongues, because those listening will not understand the tongue and the speaker will be speaking “into the air” (1 Cor. 14:6-9). Similarly, if the whole church has gathered and everyone is speaking in tongues at the same time, if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in, he will probably say you are all out of your mind (1 Cor. 14:23). One thing we need to be aware of is that on rare occasions a person who is demonized (“possessed”) will be taken over by the demon and forced to speak in a language they do not understand (demons know angel languages). This is not speaking in tongues; the counterfeit can be recognized because it is never under the control of the speaker. (It should be noted that when a person becomes comfortable speaking in tongues, he can speak in tongues in his mind in the same way that we can hold a conversation with ourselves in our mind. We can "hear" the words in our head. But it is easier for beginners if they speak in tongues out loud).
Speaking in tongues is primarily designed for one’s personal edification and use, but it is also to be utilized in a gathering of Christians by following it with its companion manifestation, the interpretation of tongues, so that the Church is edified by one’s praise to God. Speaking in tongues followed by the interpretation of tongues enables each believer to obey God’s exhortation to “…strive to excel in building up the church” (1 Cor. 14:12, ESV)."
