Tensions up between major nations, "world war on terror," and while we were sleeping last night, another major area of the world is making more formal aliances that reduce barriers between countries. These things point to prophecy fulfillment, that wars and rumors of wars in the last days will lead up to the formation of a one world government which will happen before Christ returns to take His children home to Heaven.

"Southeast Asian nations on Sunday established a formal community that attempts to create freer movement of trade and capital in an area of 625 million people with a combined economic output of $2.6 trillion. The Community declaration was signed by leaders of the 10- member Association of Southeast Asian Nations. 'In practice, we have virtually eliminated tariff barriers between us,' said Najib, the summit host. 'Now we have to assure freer movements and removal of barriers that hinder growth and investment.' http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/china-says-us-guilty-of-politic...

Wikipedia sites these as the top two reasons for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. "To accelerate economic growth, social progress, and cultural development in the region...  To promote regional peace and stability."

You can be sure that efforts to unite the world under one government/ religion will be based on the same reasoning.  But it wouldn't be wise to think that we will be able to see it all coming and then have time to prepare ourselves for Christ's coming.  Jesus warned us that His coming will be like a thief breaking in (unexpected), and Thessalonians speaks of it as a thief in the night, saying that when people are speaking of "peace and safety" that sudden distruction willl come. The final movements will be rapid ones - it will be an overwhelming surprise to the world. We must be ready at all times for the end of time on earth - which will surely come soon!

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

Amen,  It is time to know our Bibles, with special attention to prophecy.   Will we be surprised at how things happen? Hopefully more ready than surprised?

Yes, I think it might be somewhat surprising how things turn out, but hopefully we will recognize the significance even if it wasn't exactly how we thought things might be fulfilled.  Those who are watching, praying and studying the Bible the Lord will guide into understanding.

Amen...This is a sure saying. Time is running out and my life is not yet up to Christ's measure! May God help us...

Things in the world have been brewing for just this kind of thing to happen.  The same tensions are between several countries, including between China and the US.  It is time for God's people to get ready- the end could be near.  It's true that we should also be prepared in case time goes on, but it would not be wise to assume these things won't lead to the end of the world;
