True we do not need to fully understand the nature of God to be saved.
Right. In Matthew 25, about the talents, the guy who hid his talent was afraid, because he thought God was an austere man. That's no excuse. God could be an austere man. He could be a Trinity. He could be a flying spaghetti monster, for all we know. God dwells in light that no man may approach unto. But one thing we do know, we have to work with what we have.
On the other hand, we know that all scripture is profitable to be thoroughly furnished unto all good works, including scripture that disagrees with our creed, which we're not supposed to even have. All our founders warned us about the danger of messing around with the creed mentality. It makes us lazy and presumptuous. James White said if we make a creed, eventually someone will show us the errors in our creed and 1000 times over we will trample God's faithful servants into the dust, defending our creed, and rejecting new light.
We most by carefull with this. Because their is people out there who believe that is a million way to God.
And they use that God is in everything, and that God is every way, and that God is anything.
Satan is useing is to blind people with.
The problem is that there are church members and those on the fringes of our faith who present a false version of SDA history and claim that the church fell into apostacy when the doctrine of the trinity was brought into the church. To compound this they also present a false history of Christianity to support their claim that belief in a trinity is specifically a Roman Catholic invention. I have seen first-hand how these claims have caused division in churches and prevented the three angels' message being preached.
This "anti-trinitarian" movement preys on those who have neither the inclination to look for themselves nor the ability. The result of this teaching is a lack of trust in not just the Spirit of Prophecy but also the Bible. Once deception enters then other deceptions/distractions follow until not just congregations but individual's faith are destroyed.
Well, as Christ said, Satan is the father of lies.
