What is your opinion on the Church disfellowshipping a member because of pregnancy outside of marriage?

From a personal standpoint, all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God and to disfellowship a member because of pregnancy is throwing them back into the world instead of loving them and encouraging them in their spiritual life and recommitting themselves back to the Lord. Don't take me wrong, I am not encouraging the sin!!!

A very good Pastor I've met on the university, said in one of his preachings that we always punish the fools... those who are not smart enough to avoid an unwanted pregnancy using anticonception methods...

 

How many guys and girls in the church are living sinful lifes and no one knows, even among the church leaders... but weather you disfellow someone because of pregnancy or not, it will not soften the accusatory looks from the "saints" among us...

I would say that "good pastor" is not so good. First of all he is going around calling people fools, second he is advocating birth control and in another way premarital sex.

You are wrong, I may fail when trying to explain myself, specially because i'm a spanish speaker. You can't judge a pastor through my comments.

 

1. He NEVER endorsed premarital sex

2. Advocating birth control has NOTHING to do with premarital sex

3. You DON'T know the context

4. Nowadays pastors doesn't need to advocate neither birth control nor safe or secure sex, since it's plenty of information on the internet, media and newspapers about it, about the sexual diseases and how to prevent them. To have premarital sex is a personal decision (which doesn't mean God will approve it). If you decide to do it, at least take care of yourself and your girlfriend. It makes sense, doesn't it ?

BTW in spanish the word was "tontos" it may be transalted to "silly", and it doesn't have the weight like saying some is a fool or an idiot.
