WHY WAS JESUS HATED SO MUCH?

IT IS CLEAR FROM MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS IN THE GOSPELS THAT THE MAIN ISSUE/REASON FOR WHICH THE PHARISEES OF OLD HATED JESUS AND WANTED TO KILL HIM WAS THAT HE "BROKE" THE SABBATH AND OTHER "TRADITIONS".

EVEN THOUGH JESUS/GOD WAS THE CREATOR OF THE SABBATH AND HE IS ENTITLED TO THE BREAKING OF THE SABBATH, THEY DID NOT CARE. THERE WERE RIPPLES IN THE WATER AND THEY HATED HIM FOR THAT.

THEY DID NOT CARE THAT HE WAS HEALING, GIVING FOOD TO THE HUNGRY OR WHATEVER, THEY (PHARISEES) WERE INFECTED WITH SABBATH IDOLATRY AND BLIND TO KINDNESS AND LOVE. SADLY MANY SDA, JEWS AND OTHER SABBATH KEEPERS ARE IN THE SAME SHOES.

CAN OUR ZEAL FOR GOD, MAKE US CROSS THE LINE?

Many times has the zeal for God made people Cross the line. As you just pointed out the Pharisees killed Jesus. Christians persecuted by the Roman government in the earliest days of Christianity many died in the Colosseum. Then the Devil joined the early church and people got persecuted for keeping the Sabbath and rejecting Roman Catholic doctrines, conservative estimates is that 50 million was killed in those times. The Waldenses is among those who were persecuted. Many reformers were killed for their stand. The inquisition many had to die because of their faith. And as we know the day will come when those who do not bow to the Roman Catholic Church again will be persecuted.

Jesus only broke their twisted view of the Sabbath which they probably favored because it kept pompous/pious pharisees in power and revered by the plebs/masses.  On the surface the Sabbath violation may have been the reason they gave for murdering Jesus, but it was more of petty excuse.

From my perspective the message Jesus taught threatened the social order the Pharisees of his time defined.  It was mostly based on the belief that the messiah would be more like a warrior leading them from bondage and conquering by the sword rather than through miracles of love and blessings from God bestowed to all who sought it.

I wouldn't confuse it with a zeal for God, to me it seems more like a lust/desire to feel special.  A basic example of this is the image of Jesus, often people tend to display portraits of him that resemble what people look like in their corner of the world.  Some get caught up in stuff like that more than the message.  Other than that I agree with what I believe you're getting at.

WELL SAID, THANK YOU.

YES, I CAN SEE HOW JESUS WAS "DISRUPTION" TO THEIR SOCIAL AND FINANCIAL ENTERPRISES.  THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS AS A WHOLE CORRUPTED THE WORSHIP OF GOD TO THEIR OWN GAINS.

SOMEWHERE IN HOSEA IT IS WRITTEN THAT GOD EVEN ACCUSES THEM (RELIGIOUS LEADERS) OF MURDER.

God is love well said...

Jesus was a social revolutionary, a drum major for social justices.  This is clearly seen by his mission.

The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, 19to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”…

Jesus was mostly hated for his ideal of empowerment, he wanted to empower the downtrodden of society and give voice of the injustice that kept people locked in their condition. Anytime someone comes with ideas to empower the weak of society they are scorned. Jesus message was life changing as he said.

...no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine will burst the wineskins, and the wine will be destroyed--and the wineskins. Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins."

Jesus spoke truth to power, better yet, he spoke truth to the powers that be, and this is why the authorities was focus on his demise. First they tired to demean his character; they always do this.  If he was on earth today, they would probably call him a communist or a pothead and a trouble maker. They tried to turn the people against him, they call him a sloppy drunk.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and of sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her deeds."

Jesus was a social revolutionary.  It wasn't about the Sabbath, Jesus was about change the whole  Jewish ways of thinking and bringing about social justice.

Then Jesus went into the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves. 13And He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’ But you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”   14The blind and the lame came to Him at the temple, and He healed them.…

Social "justices" is root in  religious thought and actions; do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.

He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?   9The  voice of the LORD will call to the city-- And it is sound wisdom to  fear Your name: "Hear, O tribe. Who has appointed its time?…

I hate when progressives lower Jesus down to the level of Che Guevara.  Jesus the Word, our Creator did not become flesh to bring worldly human economic justice. What Jesus did was about redemption and ending the great controversy, and not some human failed political philosophy of social justice made up by radical murderous Jesuits.

They called Him "a friend of sinners" as a put down.
