The apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, saying,

"With me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or [even] by a human court." (1Cor 4:3)

The NEB puts it this way:

"For my part, if I am called to account by you, or by any human court of judgment, it does not matter to me in the least."

And yet I think we should be careful not to make this an excuse for contempt.
