True education means more than the pursual of a certaincourse of study. It means more than a preparation for thelife that now is. It has to do with the whole being, andwith the whole period of existence possible to man. It isthe harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come.(

That's a good decision since your child needs to apply of what he has learned to the real world. He needs exposure to the world so he can learn on how to make decisions for himself.
Wow. It's been a while since I have been on this site. Between the last time I posted and now, much has changed. God has lead me to put my son into public school. It is not my ideal but God has his ways. I still fully support home schooling and I am grateful for the years invested into my sons education.
My son is coming up eight years old. I am wrapped with his progress as a home schooled pupil. One of his greatest achievements of the year is that he can make macaroni cheese from scratch with a little help only to move hot or heavy objects. He has a natural tendency towards music and in particular playing by ear and making up his own songs on the piano. I have been asking God to direct his learning and keeping his learning at a basic level in order for him to find his expression through what comes to him naturally. I am so delighted to be given this opportunity to journey with him through the learning process and I am eager with anticipation to see what this year brings in terms of where God is leading Him in the field of learning.
Hi Ching,
Firstly I am very sorry for this late reply. I am very humbled that you are asking me for my advice in the most important job of raising children. I am no expert and would not like to give specific advice around he issue of spanking as it is a widely debated issue and is currently illegal in New Zealand. Three can be a very trying age when it comes to children listening to instruction. I think if you are going to use spanking as a form of punishment then make sure that you know your grandson has heard your instruction and you give him enough warning to allow him to choose how he is going to continue to act before you proceed with punishment. I hope this is somehow helpful.
Hi Julia,
I am a single mom helping my daughter in watching her 3 yr. old son. What I observed from him is that he is so movable and wild if his wants will not be granted.I spank him with a stick of coconut midrive when he will not listen to me.I always include him in my prayer so that the Lord of all lords will help me on how to stop the bad habit of my grandson. Please advice me if what I am doing is good for my grandson. Your sister in Christ, Ching
I have been challenged over the last 6 months to lift the burden of control I felt I needed to have in order for my son to learn. As life gets stressful and there seems not a lot of time is in a day to accomplish all that I want as far as education goes, God has reminded me that He will supply all of my needs according to his riches in glory. This includes the learning material and experiences my son needs in preparation for him to do "His"( God's ) work. You know it has been amazing to watch as God has carried the burden for me and the result as an example is that Caleb 'wants' to go to the library to get a book out on something that takes his interest. That is what learning is all about. Wow. If I focus my attention on God's leading in my life I can leave the course of learning up to Him knowing He has my sons best interest at heart.
