It is great to know that we all served our country and our God at the same time. i believe that we can serve even better by helping a service member that is currently on active duty. I have a son two son in laws and a daughter that are serving at present. My son his sister and her Husband are all Marines and will be in Afghanistan at the same time. My other son in law is in the Army and he is looking to have to leave at any time. I am proud of all and constantly pray and stay in contact with them.

I enlisted in the US Navy in 1977, then received a direct commission in the USAR in 1982, where I still serve, currently assigned to the 4005 USAH, Lubbock, TX.

sorry I have not been here but I have been busy with the two Churches that I am serving in as head elder. I am proud of my Children in the Military, they are US Marines and they are doing great. My son helped with the tsunami in Japan this year, he was excited to do so. At current I am helping with the tornadoes that ravished Alabama my home state.

I have a son and daughter that are serving in the US Marine Corps now. I guess they are serving as their dad did but I did not influence them to do so. I am proud of the both of them and we talk frequently. They are having a positive effect on their peers. This I heard from some of them and their superiors. God can use you anywhere you are if you allow him to do so. Be a mentor to some one you know in the military.

It is during these times that those of us that are in the military need the support that only we can give to one another. If you know of a young Adventist that is a service member make sure to stay in contact with them so they will know that they have a support group no matter what.

It is good to know that God has some of us in the trenches doing warfare for Him in the Armed Forces. The warefare that I speak of is His saving work to those who would otherwise not be afforded the chance to come to Him.

Kim, I'm glad that God has held your hand as well during the confusing and life changing depression. Mine caused me to have seizures that caused me to lose some of my memory. I thanked God that he allowed me to live and have been searching my heart to be able to serve him more openly from my experiences. It is nice to meet, by the way.

Debbie, I understand the PTSD because I have it and God has helped me to come a long way from where I was. There was a time when I did not know what was real and what was fake. It took years of counseling and three years of hospitalization at the VA hospital in Alabama. I share your pain. I served from 1979- 1991.
