Name: Where Am I? Act it out
Objective: To study or review the places where certain Bible characters have been.
Prerequisites: Players must have studied the life and activities of several Bible characters.
Preparation: Players might be asked weeks ahead to study the life and activities of specific Bible characters. The focus of the game can also be limited to a specific list of characters, like a list of ten Bible characters with whom the players are familiar. A list of Bible characters in certain locations could be prepared ahead of time. This is particularly useful when working with children and beginning Bible students.
There should be some judges/counselors to make sure that the information given by players is correct.
Materials: Pieces of paper, each with the name of a character and a location.
Players: Small group, large group, entire congregation. Great for children!
Procedure: 1 Divide participants into two or three teams.
2. Choose one or two players from a team to come to the front of the
entire congregation. Three players may also be chosen, depending on the event.
2. The player (s) is (are) given a slip of paper containing the name of a
character , a place in which the character was found and an event.
3. The player assumes the character that is given and
demonstrate the scene by, miming or acting it out. Allow sounds but
no words. Also, allow only 1 or 2 minutes for acting out the story.
4. The other members of the player’s team guess the name of the character, the location and event.
5. If the player’s team guesses correctly, it scores 1 point; incorrectly it scores 0 points.
6. Now team 2 two gets a chance: chose a player to act out an event. The games continues….and so on with groups playing alternately
Conclusion: The winning team scores the most points.
