The hymnal is another source of comfort, praise, prayer and encouragement. Many people have joined the church through the music ministries.
Music inspires, soothes pain, strengthens,encourages and also can heal broken hearts.
I would like you friends to share with us some of your favorite hymns and let us know why that song means so much to you.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus......" hymn number 524 is my favorite. I sing this song almost every day.
Am a witness to the message in this song. when I take a look back in my life, all that I have gone through, where I am right now, and the many plans God still has in store for me. I cant resistant singing Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him by his word and to rest upon his promise ................
Basing on this song therefore I have learned that I cant trust in anything,or any body other than Jesus and succeed
I also understand that trusting in Jesus is all I need in life then the rest will follow.
This song also has a promise that he is a precious friend who is going to be with me till the end. Isnt that wonderful!!!!
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
and to take him at his word;
just to rest upon his promise,
and to know, "Thus saith the Lord."

Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
How I've proved him o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

2
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
just to trust his cleansing blood;
and in simple faith to plunge me
neath the healing, cleansing flood!

3
Yes, 'tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
just from sin and self to cease;
just from Jesus simply taking
life and rest, and joy and peace.

4
I'm so glad I learned to trust thee,
precious Jesus, Savior, friend;
and I know that thou art with me,
wilt be with me to the end.
Margaret this is my favorite hymn too!!! I just love this hymn especially since I travel a lot this hymn has been a big comfort to me over the years.
Each verse speaks to different situations where there might be cause for normal reaction to be of fear or insecurity but knowing that he is there then you are not afraid, you can still praise him or you can just close your eyes and go to sleep because if you don't awaken on this side it doesn't even matter because you'll roam no more .

This is such a wonderful comforting hymn to me a close second as a favorite is "come thou fount of every blessing".
#328 Must JESUS bear the cross alone
and let the world go free?
no,there's a cross for evryone
and there's a cross for me.
When burdens seem unbearable
remember 1Cornthians 10:13
also hebrews13:5 last part
and Psalms 46:1
and Psalms 55:22
and 1 Peter 5:7
Thank you for that wonderful hymn and those wonderful verses! Here are some more to go with those:
Ps. 125:3
Ps. 37:3-8
Joshua 1:5 last part
1 Peter 5:7
Ps. 56:3,4
Is. 41:9,101John 5:14,15
Yes, Jesus understands! We do have crosses to bear, and we do have a Helper as we bear them!
Hymn 184 Jesus Paid it all

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain;
He washed it white as snow.

When I think of what Jesus went through just for me mostly in the garden of Gethsemane and at Calvary, I wonder how I would have managed with out him but he went all through that just because of me.
I cant wait seeing my Jesus.
Jesus paid it all

I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain;
He washed it white as snow.

2
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots,
And melt the heart of stone.

3
Since nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garment white
In the blood of Calvary's Lamb.

4
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus' feet.
My favourite hymn is 'Live out Thy life within me' and 'Have Thine own way' because i have realized that it is only when Jesus is with me that i am blessed in every sense of the word. I am only ever trully happy when i yield my will to His will. He knows whats best for me.
Would someone help me find the lyrics to a hymn please?

I can't remember the title. I only have snibbets of phrases in memory..
It had a phrase saying..."..and He was praying for me"
Also ... "..before the break of day".

It is not the known song of "I come to the garden alone...where the dew is still on the roses".

It is a bit mournful in music or perhaps a bit monotone. But I was very impressed with the song because it had to do about the intense love of Jesus as intercessor for me and others.

Thank you for any effort or knowledge offered.
If I had to choose one hymn as my favorite, it would be Trust and Obey - this hymn best expresses what we Adventists believe, teach and live by from day to day.
there is definately no other way to be happy in Jesus!!!!! when u trust him and be obedient to him there is this joy in your heart that is hard to explain which expresses how good u feel and u r saying YES!!!! i did something that pleases the lord!! i love this song!
That's the very first hymn I ever learned! How I love it!
