The key to a new- start- to a new spiritual experience is to break the barriers of sin that separate you from God. as the shadows lengthened on Judah;s day of probation, God Spoke to His people through Jeremiah ( Break up your fallow ground and sow not among the thorns Jeremiah 4:3

fallow ground is cultivated land that is left idle during growing season. The land's condition is indicated in the second line of couplet."sow not among the thorns"

As anuone knows who has left a precious garden plot unattended, the next season some edible plants will sprout from seeds gropped at harvest time, but mostly weeds thorns will spring up in the neglected plot.

MARK 4: 3-20 in Jesus parable thorns are identified as the cares of the world, and the delight in riches and the desire of other things. in jeremiah's time, the thorns would have symbolized the unnatural implantation of foreign deites and the resultant gross practises and apostacy that had choked out the worship of the true God

We need to circumcise the Heart like what Jeremiah says repeating the commandment of Moses " circumcise therefore the fore skin of your heart and be no longer stubborn (Deutoronomy 10:16)

Are we more sturnborn than was Judah's stubborn sinfulness
