Well, I only have one course left which I'l take during the fall. Some courses for my program were offered Saturday. I arranged to take the class distance learning. Most of the state tests for the teacher license (MTEL) were offered Saturday. I requested to take the test Sunday by filling an online form for accomodtion. Speak up. Let instructors and the coordinator know that you are a Sabbath keeper and you need to be accommodated.

I am doing a Master in elementary education. The MTEL - Mass educator licensure exams is the most challenging part of my education. I will complete all my requirements this December 2010. I'll receive my degree whenever I pass those 2 state tests.

It's nice to have found this group. Hello to everyone !!!!

@Star68-Esther: I don't think attending a non-SDA institution for your MA is a problem, because I believe the curriculum set is the standard one as per prescribed .by the Education Dept. but there will be issues like... if you're going to test on a Saturday, or like there will be concepts that are not according to our beliefs, I have experienced that. But when I was in college, I could stand for my Sabbath belief w/ regards to testing or other requirements. It will be a total struggle.

Here is a question. I have the opportunity to attend a university to complete a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology - if I am successful and if the sponsor approves of the program.

Here is the issue. The university that I just might attend, is a Sunday-church university. I am concerned about that a bit. Has any of you ever had that experience? do you think that SDAs should attend other church's schools?

Hi everyone! it's been a while since I've been here. Welcome Dee and Ursula. Great having you. Whenever you have the time, be sure to drop in and ask a questionor make a comment--something to exercise our minds. Get us energized for those Masters projects and other assignments that we will be or are doing. Take care and God be with you all in your pursuits. Amen sista! I'm with you on that one. I just started a graduate assistantship at NCU. Registration is on the 28th of this month and then we'll start classes sometime in May. I'll definitely be praying for you. I believe that you will make an excellent Masters student and Masters degree-carrying Guidance Counselor. Pray for me as well.
