Reflecting on his meetings with Adventist believers in China, Paulsen said, "Last Sabbath we had the privilege to visit Shenyang and worship with one of our church's congregations, where twenty years ago we had less than 50 members. Today, that Seventh-day Adventist community numbers 7,000 and we have the largest Protestant church in the city, seating 3,000 members. It was a wonderful Sabbath," he said.

"All of this testifies to freedom, while at times elusive and difficult to exercise, but finally expresses major changes happening in China, and I praise the Lord for that and I am very, very thankful."

The Seventh-day Adventist delegation visited four Adventist congregations, as well as the national and local Christian Councils/Three-Self Patriotic Movement in Shanghai, Wuxi, Shenyang and Beijing and two regional seminaries, Northeast and Yangjing. In China, there are nearly 400,000 Adventist believers among the estimated 20 million Christians.

I wanted to join this group because I see my favorite Adventist book that is not the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy here: God and the Ancient Chinese. It is a fantastic book.  I give it away all the time in English and in Chinese.  :-)  As you can probably tell I am NOT Chinese. :-)

My name is Pr. Sammy Li Wei Long. I was born in Bandung, Indonesia, but have been working for almost 50 years in Indonesia, Malaysia, Macau, China and Australia.
I can speak 8 languages fluently and understand 8 other languages, but I am most obsessed in studying and preaching about the ancient Chinese writing, the Jia Gu Wen, which I am sure has been inspired by the King of kings, Shangdi, the King above all kings, and is His last defense and best proof of the authenticity of the Bible. I regret I did not study it since I was small.
My father sent me to the Dutch school in Indonesia, instead of the Chinese School. So I did not know Chinese until I reached the age of 53 when I served for 7 years in Macau, from 1993 to the end of 1999. But God has been wonderful to me, and has used me to present this subject in 5 different countries at least, not including Netherlands and Canada, which I only visited very briefly.

I am now retiring in Sydney, Australia, but still actively engaged in presenting the messages and training young people to present the same materials. I have just sent a batch of my sermons to my nephew who is a Pentecostal lay preacher but very sympathetic with our messages. He has been invited to conduct meetings by the Pentecostal churches in Kuching and Pontianak. And he will present some of my sermons. Please pray for Michael Wiriadinata, my nephew.
