Adventist Online

I have been looking at supposed SDA online sites. Unfortunately I am getting more and more confused with who is I find this guy teaching a 2520 prophecy..and all accounts he is an SDA layman.

How many more are amongst us? Do you ever think you are reading an SDA site when in fact it's not of our teaching?

A Review of Jeff Pippenger’s teachings - Norman McNulty, M.D.

You went right to the point,Mark!

Yet the 2520 is on both charts which God endorses through E.G. White.

As is the 666 years of Rome. Why is 2520 taught but not the 666 year prophecy?

The 2520 and 666 are both missing from the 1863 chart - which God endorses through Ellen White - and the 2520 is refuted in Uriah Smith's book - which God endorses through Ellen White.

Perhaps it wasn't the 2520 which was being endorsed but rather the correct understanding of the 2300, which was the thrust of the charts?

John B

Could you please show your so called endorsement from God through sister White for the 1863 Chart?

Ellen White's endorsement of Uriah Smith's book was sound, as ALL the prophets spoke for the end of time, including herself. Uriah Smith's book is a wonderful book for historical content that cannot be found very easy today, she was never endorsing everything in that book as truth, she called it a helping hand.

She did however say that the 1850 Chart was truth.

Monday we returned to Dorchester where our dear Brother Nichols and family live. There in the night God gave me a very interesting vision, the most of which you will see in the paper. God shewed me the necessity of getting out a chart. I saw it was needed and that the truth made plain upon tables would effect much and would cause souls to come to the knowledge of the truth.  {15MR 210.4}

I saw that God was in the publishment of the chart by Brother Nichols. I saw that there was a prophecy of this chart in the Bible, and if this chart is designed for God's people, if it [is] sufficient for one it is for another, and if one needed a new chart painted on a larger scale, all need it just as much.  {13MR 359.1}

Which part of truth is false? Is God a liar?

If Ellen White endorsed Uriah Smith's book as solid truth, then she is a false prophet and our whole religion is based upon a lie. Is that what you are saying?

You are trusting in your own judgement and understanding rather than a plain thus sayeth the Lord.

lol, these guys never give up and admit that they are wrong

You think it is funny my friend?

Ministers who would not accept this saving message themselves hindered those who would have received it. The blood of souls is upon them. Preachers and people joined to oppose this message from heaven and to persecute William Miller and those who united with him in the work. Falsehoods were circulated to injure his influence; and at different times after he had plainly declared the counsel of God, applying cutting truths to the hearts of his hearers, great rage was kindled against him, and as he left the place of meeting, some waylaid him in order to take his life. But angels of God were sent to protect him, and they led him safely away from the angry mob. His work was not yet finished.  {EW 235}

The advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of the power of God; the first angel's message was carried to every missionary station in the world, and in some countries there was the greatest religious interest which has been witnessed in any land since the Reformation of the sixteenth century; but these are to be exceeded by the mighty movement under the last warning of the third angel.  {GC 611.1}

Blessed are the eyes which saw the things that were seen in 1843 and 1844. The message was given. And there should be no delay in repeating the message, for the signs of the times are fulfilling; the closing work must be done. A great work will be done in a short time. A message will soon be given by God's appointment that will swell into a loud cry. Then Daniel will stand in his lot, to give his testimony.  {2MR 20.1}

  All the messages given from 1840-1844 are to be made forcible now, for there are many people who have lost their bearings. The messages are to go to all the churches.  {21MR 437.1}

Instead of laughing you should weep my brother.

lol you are so wrong  and these quotes are so out of context

Mark said:   If Ellen White endorsed Uriah Smith's book as solid truth, then she is a false prophet and our whole religion is based upon a lie. Is that what you are saying?

Jeff Pippenger said something similar to what you said: To say that she doesn't endorse the 2520  is to oppose her prophetic gift, but also you must reject the light that Gabriel revealed to Miller.  Where did Gabriel get his understanding of prophecy from?  Jesus Christ and God the Father!  so now we must call into question the Father and the Son's knowledge of prophecy.  If Miller was wrong about the 2520, then sister White is a false prophet, Gabriel is an angel from the bottomless pit, and God the Father and God the Son are false gods.!

That kind of language you guys use is extreme and fanatical!

Uriah Smith was a true man of God!  She called his book the "helping hand of God."  I guess the word God doesn't mean anything to you guys?

Below is her quote and it is interesting that she groups this book in with her inspired books!  Quite interesting, but you will dismiss that away to.

"The Lord calls for workers to enter the canvassing field that the books containing the light of present truth may be circulated. The people in the world need to know that the signs of the times are fulfilling. Take to them the books that will enlighten them. Daniel and Revelation, The Great Controversy, Patriarchs and Prophets, and The Desire of Ages should now go to the world. The grand instruction contained in Daniel and Revelation has been eagerly perused by many in Australia. This book has been the means of bringing many precious souls to a knowledge of the truth. Everything that can be done should be done to circulate Thoughts on Daniel and the Revelation. I know of no other book that can take the place of this one. It is God's helping hand."  {21MR 444.3}

Sounds like the prophet was inspired by God when she made that statement about Uriah Smith's book, so now I guess it's you that is calling her a false prohet?

The Lord does not make mistakes, we do!

If Turkey is a mistake it is not truth, and if it is not truth it is a lie. You are saying God is faulty!

The Mistake on the 1843 Chart was a human error in regards to not understanding the tarrying time, nothing to do with the prophecies being wrong, because that would make God a liar and faulty as you are making Him to be. God did not let them see the mistake, because He used it to test to see who really were seeking for truth.

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Mark said, "Could you please show your so called endorsement from God through sister White for the 1863 Chart?"

"Are you missionaries in your neighborhoods, and in your own families? Are you seeking to have a deep work of reformation going forward where you are best known? Is your life such as to give you influence at home with your families and workmen? You can hang up the charts, and show them the truth, as it is there illustrated. You can teach them, if you have a mind thus to do, by explaining prophetic history, and tracing down prophecies, that the end of all things is at hand. You can impress them with the sacredness of the law of God, and show them its claims upon them."  (Review & Herald, 29th March 1870)

"We will send you a package of books containing four volumes of Spiritual Gifts, How to Live, Appeal to Youth, Appeal to Mothers, Sabbath Readings, and the two large charts, with Key of Explanation. If you have a part of these, state what you have, and we will send other books in their places, or send only such of these as you have not. Send fifty cents to pay the postage, and we will send you the five-dollar package and charge the fund four dollars." (Testimonies For The Church Vol.1, p.689, 1868)

The Key of Explanation was written by Uriah Smith.

In regard to Daniel and the Revelation:

"Especially should the book Daniel and the Revelation be brought before people as the very book for this time. This book contains the message which all need to read and understand. Translated into many different languages, it will be a power to enlighten the world. This book has had a large sale in Australia and New Zealand. By reading it many souls have come to a knowledge of the truth. I have received many letters expressing appreciation of this book.

     Let our canvassers urge this book upon the attention of all. The Lord has shown me that this book will do a good work in enlightening those who become interested in the truth for this time. Those who embrace the truth now, who have not shared in the experiences of those who entered the work in the early history of the message, should study the instruction given in Daniel and the Revelation, becoming familiar with the truth it presents.

     Those who are preparing to enter the ministry, who desire to become successful students of the prophecies, will find Daniel and the  Revelation an invaluable help. They need to understand this book. It speaks of past, present, and future, laying out the path so plainly that none need err therein. Those who will diligently study this book will have no relish for the cheap sentiments presented by those who have a burning desire to get out something new and strange to present to the flock of God. The rebuke of God is upon all such teachers. They need that one teach them what is meant by godliness and truth. The great, essential questions which God would have presented to the people are found in Daniel and the Revelation. There is found solid, eternal truth for this time. Everyone needs the light and information it contains."  (Ms 174, 1899)

Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith, p.785 in regard to "the 2520":

"But we need borrow no trouble on this score; for the expression "seven times" does not denote a period of duration, but is simply an adverb expressing degree, and setting forth the severity of the judgments to be brought upon Israel."

"The truths given us after the passing of the time in 1844 are just as certain and unchangeable as when the Lord gave them to us in answer to our urgent prayers. The visions that the Lord has given me are so remarkable that we know that what we have accepted is the truth. This was demonstrated by the Holy Spirit. Light, precious light from God, established the main points of our faith as we hold them today." Letter 50, 1906, pp. 1, 2. (To Elder W. W. Simpson, January 30, 1906.)

Amen John B!  There needs to be a like button on this website!  How much clearer can she be:

The great, essential questions which God would have presented to the people are found in Daniel and the Revelation. There is found solid, eternal truth for this time. Everyone needs the light and information it contains."  (Ms 174, 1899)

John B

None of those quotes say what you really wish they were saying.

In regards to the first two quotes, it is referring to the 1843 and 1850 Charts, nowhere does it mention that it is the 1863 Chart, you just want it to, but it doesn't say it. They are the only two charts endorsed by God's hand, and are a fulfillment of prophecy. The 1863 chart doesn't qualify. It doesn't have the 1260, the 1290, or the 1335 on it either, are they all false prophecies as well? They must be according to your faulty reasoning.

Again, she does not say the book is infallible, she is saying that those interested in the truth for this time, this book will be an invaluable help, she does not say that the book is the truth for this time, they are two different meanings.

There is much truth in Uriah Smith's book, but it is not comprehensive. It was however the best around at that time and was a help for those seeking truth.

Hence she states the following.

When the books of Daniel and Revelation are better understood, believers will have an entirely different religious experience. They will be given such glimpses of the open gates of heaven that heart and mind will be impressed with the character that all must develop in order to realize the blessedness which is to be the reward of the pure in heart. The Lord will bless all who will seek humbly and meekly to understand that which is revealed in the Revelation. This book contains so much that is large with immortality and full of glory that all who read and search it earnestly receive the blessing to those "that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein." One thing will certainly be understood from the study of Revelation--that the connection between God and His people is close and decided.  {FLB 345.3}

Study Revelation in connection with Daniel, for history will be repeated. . . . We, with all our religious advantages, ought to know far more today than we do know.  {Mar 30.5}

So my brother, are you going to tell me now that Turkey is the King of the North?

We have now traced the prophecy of the 11th of Daniel down, step by step, and have thus far found events to fulfil all its predictions. It has all been wrought out into history except this last verse. The predictions of the preceding verse having been fulfilled within the memory of the generation now living, we are carried by this one past our own day into the future; for no power has yet performed the acts here described. But it is to be fulfilled; and its fulfilment must be accomplished by that power which has been continuously the subject of the prophecy from the 40th verse down to this 45th verse. If the application to which we have given the preference in passing over these verses, is correct, we must look to Turkey to make the move here indicated. {1897 UrS, DAR 310.3}

For your claim to be correct it must be!
