Elijah, i've been using firefox for years that is not true. Open source software a virus free software. He can get into the browser's settings to restore the default website. Malware is the cause of the ask.com change because google is currently the default search engine on my firefox page.

The Problem is with Firefox is that Ask is pigyback in on the Firefox download and you can do nothing about it. We find this with the free programs more and more these days.

Most likely you have a virus and malware on your computer. Try downloading Malwarebytes for free.

try using a different computer, download it and save it to a flash drive, then installing it on your affected computer. Give it clean so it will take care of the problem. But you do need to have anti-virus software installed.
